How many Democrats do you think would vote for someone like Marco Rubio instead of someone like Bill Clinton (while being accused of sexual misconduct) if the two were running against each other?
Oh that part I get. A lot of people vote on values more than individuals. Expecting someone to give up their highly-regarded principles just because the figurehead that was chosen to represent those values turns out to be a sleezy moron is a pretty big fantasy. Those figureheads can be easily replaced, it's not like everyone switched parties after Weiner was kicked to the curb.
It's the irrational hatred of the "other" I'll never understand. I mean I can disagree with someone all day, but I'm not going to hate them, or kick them out of my life, just because they view some things in life different than me, or vote for a different person than I did.
