Meh, I'm at work and the only thing on my mind is my Hot Tub, Wife and Beer!

That's three things, Al :P

It isn't if the wife hands him the beer while in the hot tub, then it's all one train of thought.

Yeah, duh... obviously you need to be meleeing in 'Enhancing magic skill + ' gear to increase en- spell damage, amirite?

Actually a meleeing RDM can do some decent damage if they know what they are doing , and enhancing magic does play a role in that (i.e. Enspell). I don't have a problem of RDM melee in solo, small group PT, or in Besieged and Campaign at all. Of course a RDM that does not cast Cure or Raise or Enfeeble still sucks :P

I got no problem with a RDM meleeing if they're keeping up with their duties and are able to contribute decent damage, versus just feeding the mob TP, like everything it's situational.

The poster said meleeing rdm on HMMs. This is a no-no, unless its Temperance, and even then under certain situations. For an rdm to pull off some 'decent damage'(ie meripo) requires lots of enhance skill gear, and fully merited sword skill and enhance skill(lol). With ALL of this, you can do an enDD for about 26ish per hit.

Probably just a few rdm on server have this kind of build, which makes everyone else miss miss miss which defeats the whole purpose.

PS... though i have to admit, rdm enspells with a kclub is nice, tried it a few times in salvage for some real fun.

He wasn't even doing that. Remember? He just went AFK shortly after he got his boots and didn't come back till he was almost dead on the last pop. >.>

I have probably only seen one maybe two red mages who could keep up with everything while meleeing. In leveling my Sam we had a two red mages who meleed and well couldn't even remember to refresh them selves. Little known fact, I leveled my Red Mage tanking from 30-40 because we had no tanks in the level range =x.

Um no... were not healers or buffers ONLY. Were DD after 70.. and for someone to ask us to main heal is a freaking n00b. Prior to 70, yeah were healers/ buffers but dont ask us to gimp our summoning magic just cause 1. you cant take damage for beans, or 2. you cant find a whm. Hey while your at, why dont you ask a blm/whm be main healer? Or a brd/whm... cause that makes a lot of sense.

Smiley: lol Don't worry about the thread age that much, the Cerberus forum doesn't get that many threads. On the other hand, yes, you pay your monthly fee to Square/Enix, but when you start wasting other people's time, that becomes a problem. You could also argue that the other people could just /pcmd kick such a person, but a lot of people feel like they would be a jerk for doing so. Personally for me to kick someone they need to be doing pretty badly, if possible I'll just add them to my DNP list (Do Not Party with...).

I really do keep such a list, too. So if you're the sort of person who would just behave really badly (attempt to one man "zerg" XP mobs) or something asinine (like trying to ninja lot my Rutter Sabatons, which I still cannot believe happened) or just be a jerk (if I make a vague comment to the party about not trying to one man solo an XP mob, don't call me a princess bard and a whiney ***** and tell me that I'm replaceable, asshat Samurais are dime a dozen), don't expect any sort of in game association with me in game. I just don't really invest any sort of emotional effort into it.

As for thread contribution, don't do any of that stuff >.>;
