HOE (or Heart of Epicure) is a dissolved-in-practice LS that houses mainly Chinese speaking players on Cerberus. I myself is a HoE member, and most HoE members now actually resides in Sylph server with a few still remaining on Cerberus.

One of our members seems to have their account hacked, and his gear is alleged by sold from bazaar from the character as Cerblm (that is not the original name of the hacked character, I will not disclose the name so far unless I get a better idea what is happening, the player is Taiwanese anyway)

Cerblm FFXIAH profile: http://www.ffxiah.com/player.php?id=1177189&sid=23

Today I also spotted a quited HoE character (Larrypal) being logged in in Lower Jeuno in a suspicious manner (seems to be bazaar selling, and not responding to tells that a HoE member would have understand, and being an /anon PT leader). I have yet to manage to contact the person/people who are supposed to have the correct login to that quited player -- and unfortunately one of the person I expect to have login to that quited character is the allegedly hacked player.

If anyone has information about Cerblm or Larrypal last few days, please contact me ASAP. It seems the person behind the hacking does have some knowledge of the gear held by the player. I hope this is not an act of someone that hacked player knew in game.

I know this is probably improbable, but if you have buy things from Cerblm or Larrypal the last 2-3 days.... Chances are the stuff are not sold with consent.

I saw CerBlm in Rolanberry about 4? days ago, selling tons of expensive gear.

That I can remember, Speed Belt, Hauby+1, PCC, Kyudogi, HQ Staves, there was a LOT more but I cannot remember the rest. I assumed it was a player quitting, and I'm really sorry to hear about your friend Amanada.

I talked to my other friend about Larrypal account, and it seems that that was compromised too. A lot of HoE members do share log in info, but they do know each other in RL -- I myself met one HoE members in RL too (he is Sylph now).

A big chunk of Cerblm gear actually originally is from Larrypal -- who had benefited long time ago (before NA release) making a lot of gil camping NMs that time. When he quited, he gave the gear away (and also the login), and part of that gear landed on the hacked player, who also have Larrypal's login. A few of the hacked player's friend also have to change their login information too right away.

I really wish something can be done. Even SE may be able to disable or restore the stolen accounts to the original owner, I am not sure if SE can do much in restoring the things that got lost. When the stuff got auctioned or bazaared or traded off, there is really nothing can be done to restore them (it won't be fair to the people who obtained them).

I actually stumbled upon something interesting on AH... when doing some buying/selling:

http://www.ffxiah.com/player.php?id=1179774

The AH history of that character in someways very similar to Cerblm; not much transaction history (19), sell only, and more important it is another Cer(something) name. I hope this is not some other compromised player's gear. I think I will post what I have found in the main forum to get some opinion and ideas from other servers.

I am little worried about the long term effect of those hacked accounts. RMT farmers/crafters/AH manipulation in the whole, I am not sure it really affects the game economy as a whole that much (may be I will cause Vana'diel consumer uproar). But stealing accounts (that may result in SE p-banning the reported hack accounts if not restored) affects the stability of the server population. People do join and leave the game for other reasons, but last thing you want is the player number stability been effected by intent to farm gil and RMT in the game.

The stuff lost... is more than quite valuable... including a Speed Belt and a Jailer of Love earring. That is why even if SE can restore an account, nothing can really help at all. I do not think a lot of players been playing for so long, suddenly have everything strip from him/her just by a computer security compromise, will be able to continue to play. Too bad the worse people that sponsor and encourage activity to steal accounts, do not give a darn at all in what happens. You know who you are, I am not going to say who that is.

AF is nothing anyway... to me AF quest is more a necessary nuisance. :P Well gonna do Dancer AF quests soon for me. Looks are important in this game haha

Some of my best times in the HNM scene were with HoE. These were a top-notch group of honest players. They had great humor and loved to have fun. To see something like this happen to them makes my blood boil.

And yeah, looks are very important in this game, Ama. Dancer AF looks to be very sexy. :)
