Mixed emotions about returning. Not a rant.Follow

Towards the end of my FFXI adventure I was beginning to get burnt out. The leveling, skilling crafts, missions, etc were all taking a toll on me; however, I decided to take a break from the game. That was in June of 2006. My character was deleted. (Avela- Level 70 Bard- lots of other jobs as well but bard was my calling).

Anyways, now that I have had a break and can reasonably look at how I completely lost track of reality I believe that I can come back and play, log off and have that be it. The issue is though, OMG... lol. The things that have changed since June. I worked for 1 year on chocobo digging (literally everyday) to get to veteran status and now, if PoL cannot restore my character (which is looking like they can not) I have to start over.

Should I start over? Do I have it in me to level from 1 again and do those missions again? I am so confused. I guess that I have no choice really. I only hope that I can re-establish some friendly relationships again and really truly enjoy the purpose of what I believe FFXI to be: International cooperation and civility between different cultures.
