NM's true meaning?Follow

#1 Oct 22 2006 at 7:14 AM Rating: Decent
Last night a 30ish thf was fighting the valkurm emperor, I rolled by just as he was going into red hp and the emperor was around 30-40% hp. I stood there and watched him till he took a dirt nap and took the emperor. But during the fight he sends a tell telling me how much of an **** I was for not curing him and taking his beloved NM...

Now the question, am I the only one who thinks that NM really means No Mercy( to the poor sap getting pwned )?

If it is a NM I have been camping ~ I will not cure people that are fighting it. If they take the "dirt nap" I will claim (if I can) and kill. Once the fight is over (if I have a means to raise I will raise the fallen.) I typically think this is the view point of most players and NMs... You had your chance ~ if you can't kill yourself you should have brought backup or potions to keep yourself alive.

Hell ~ for Leaping Lizzy ~ I logged on to see a low lvl Mnk die to him and I claimed (since I logged there after camping that ******* Sword off and on for 4 days) and finally got the drop. I even made sure to let him know that I had a raise on the way for him if he wanted to wait and he did since his home point was quite a ways from Gustaberg.

The person that the OP typed about that died was just frustrated... Heck... Some of these NMs drive quite alot of people insane.... It's why I typically don't camp em (which is why it's remarkable about me camping LL (although I'll use Camping loosely ~ I was typically there flagged up to xp and if I got an invite left. I would log off there and log on there and reflag up to xp. So..... I didn't just solely focus on camping it.)

I would go so far as to say don't camp a NM that you can't kill... cause if you are expecting a cure, you're gonna be out of luck.

However, there are the times when you just happen upon them and are in no way equipped to kill... then you have a dilemma. I usually go for it anyway... heh, had Spipi whip my level 12 THF way back in the day, lol. HP to Windy though and switched jobs... he was still up when I got back and I got the drop. >.>
