Planning on doing a Riverne Site #A01 run after maintenance, so far we have
40BLM/WHM
40WAR/NIN
and one other member that I forgot job of ^_^;;
So we need a NIN and a WHM then a random job. (SMN if possible)

Please reply asap so I can get some sort of strategy ready by the time maintenance is over.

Edit: We are using the glitch...sorry

I refuse to help anyone take advantage of an issue of the game.

That fight is not hard at all especially with a lot of people put out strats for that already -- just have 3 tanks to take each mammet, or have 2 people kite 2 and kill one-by-one. Kiting is not hard if you have powder boots or a thief kiter.

Openly admiting that you are going to "glitch" in an open forum is like a welcome to flaming.

There was a thread in the main forum that claimed someone actually got GM jailed for doing this... I cannot seem to find the thread now, because I lost my preium status of my account. But trust me there was such a thread.

Only because you asked, Spira. I think this type of exploit is cheating:

Quote:

You know, people in cutscenes are Invincible until they leave eh?

Nin/war
Sam/war
whm/smn
whm/blm
rdm/whm
blm/whm

Everybody has a Mule.
First, everyone except the blm entered the arena and left, so there was no CS when we started.

Then, the strat.

We all enter but the BLM DOES NOT ADVANCE THE CS PLOT IN ANY WAY. Just dont hit buttons. Thats his job. Everyone except the blm and the rdm moves up near the exit of the cave and logs out. We all log in on our mules to communicate. Meanwhile, the blm is still in the CS, and the rdm is the only one left in the arena. What happens next is genius.

The Rdm sight aggros all of them. he runs back to the blm and lets himself die. Now it's just the blm, who is invincible because hes still in CS. The Rdm messages the mules to re enter. we do so and the 4 of us (Nin, Sam, Whm, Whm,) party up and head to the main area. We do not invite the rdm or blm.

The nin pulls (anyway you want) one at a time to the center. The sam (me) and the nin fight em, whith the whms healing. We did alot of Distortions. On the last mob, the nin pulled him to the center. A whm went and Raised the RDM, and we invited the blm. All 6 of us fough the mob until 25%, then Sam 2hrd. The last mammet dies.

Total time: 28:17
I must say the fight was a complete and utter joke. No one got remotely close to dying. I didnt even try. I tried solo SC-ing. I did a little /range spam. I even forgot to eat food. sh*t, the cat couldve played for me and we would have won.

Items I used(in gil) = 10,000. 4 liquids and A high-potion.

The whms used about 4 yags each, which they made themselves. The Nin used a High pot +3 and tank food. The rdm and blm used nothing. I still had Reraise up.

There are only 2 ways I can think of that anyone can lose with this strat.
1. You run out of time. Oh well. The fight was about as intense as your average XP pt, so you should still have all your items for a round 2.

2. The person in the CS comes out of the CS. Then he tanks 3 mammets and dies horribly. The pt has 2 melees in it. Exit and try again.

Well, there you go. A very wimpy way of handling this fight, IMO.

Yes, there was such a thread, but it was most likely a person that doesn't want people to cheat that wanted to scare people out of it. And also, the main reason I said we were going to use the glitch is...basically because we are. I didn't want anyone to volunteer, then when I explain strategy, have them back out because they don't wanna do it. Couldn't care less if I get flamed for it.

People that do that not someone you want to begin with. If I am going to help or do something, it is either do it seriously, or do not do it.

I do not know about your LS, but I get through nearly all of my CoP missions with a quasi-static group. The only time I did a pick up is Ouryu and Sacarium. You may have save your a lot of headache to organize this a LS or friends event instead of resorting to do this.

I know a lot of people will claim that things like their LS is not helpful etc etc. In fact, I am open to help "strangers" as long as it is organized ahead of time. One thing I will not do is support of leeching and cheating. By openly saying what you say you may do, you are earning yourself a bad reputation. If you are going to glitch, at least don't say it here. No one really cares if you glitch it with your friends, and no one can stop you. The moment you claim it openly, the tables were turned.

Instead of finding people who just want to glitch, try to get a serious and comitted static group going. That would say do a mission every week. That is why I mention about your LS. That is the first place to look for, and then your friend list. I am not sure if you are European or not, but the time right after maintence seem like a bad time to do this, not only not much people will be on, a lot north american players will not be online because they are still @ work.

Edit: Took out my uncalled for remarks.

I'd just like to say sorry to all for what I've said today. I'm willing to give the non glitch a shot if anyone would still volunteer to help me. The party is 3/6 so far with BLM/WHM, WAR/NIN, and another person who I forget the job of. If you could see past the earlier posts it would be much appreciated.

I could not be online right now, or I would have helped. I checked your profile, you are from Nerfed? I can try to make Blades to help you >_>

oh so that way the mobs won't aggro and link all?

to be honest you'd find your time much more fun and excitement doing this mission without this glitch...

this isn't really a glitch, its playing with how the game works i guess :P

good luck with it anyhow :) tho you're prolly in the mission/done it already by now ^_^

FYI- they took the glitch out during that big update (the update when they open the choco stalls ou in Whitegate)

I've explained this before in another thread but I'll post it here again FYI.

Get 1 BLM and 1 person with massive evasion. When I was the kiter I was rdm/nin with eva gear totalling about +48 eva and eating a jack-o-lantern.

Get 1 tank, 1 whm, and 2 DD's.

Everyone goes in and buffs up, uses RR earring, etc.

===================================
This is what ever job's purpose is:

Tank - Tanks the mob and keeps hate
DD's - Deal Damage

Whm - Heals the DD's and Tank

Blm - Heals the kiter

Kiter - Tries not to die
===================================

Now everyone runs to just before the last steps, basically fighting at the top of the steps. The Blm Kiter and Tank go to just before the grass area.

The kiter will run out and SIGHT agro all 3 mammets. The kiter doesn't cast any spells on the mobs, no gravity, no die, not 1 single spell.

Immediately the tank runs up and vokes 1 of the mammets off of the kiter and pulls it back to the DD's and WHM.

The blm waits a few seconds until the kiter has made a round and then runs into the MIDDLE of the grass area, where the kiter will round around the blm in a big circle, following the outside of the arena.

The blm is now free to spam cure's on the kiter without getting any kind of hate. The BLM's sole purpose is to cure now, and the reasin I keep chosing BLM is because of the massive MP pool to cure.

The pld and DD's use yellow liquids when needed (about 35-45 secs) to keep it from changing jobs once it's at something comfortable like drg or whatever you like.

Once the 1st mammet is defeated, the tank runs out and vokes another mammet off the kiter, while the blm continues to heal and the kiter continues to run.

Repeat this until the mammets are dead, and then everyone melee and nuke the last mammet until it's dead.

Many people disagree and keep saying that the blm will get hate from curing the kiter, but that's not the case in A01. The blm will never ever ever ever ever get hate unless he uses something besides cure, such as enfeebling or inflicting dmg on a mammet.

I've done this about 14 times now and this method has been solid without any problems at all.
