LoO Stolen at 1%Follow

Today after the maint a few of my ls members decided to camp LoO. Only competetion there was a nin/war and 2 blm/whm, who get claim but wipe. So we wait until it gets 100% again and claim.
Now we only had 1 Bst/whm(me), Smn/whm and Blm/whm, so our game plan was I'd keep Torama's on it while the Smn did blood pacts and kept avatars on it so I could switch pets, and the blm was there to keep claim, and kinda heal.

We get it to about 80% when another Bst/whm shows up, but he had to leave soon, so at about 10% we start meleeing. The 2 Bst ended up dieing at 1% and the smn was out of mp and the Blm was try to get a nuke off when it becomes unclaimed just as we're about to get pet's on it again, and the other party who has about 6 members in it now claims and get's the kill at 1%.

Now I thought with SE's new claim system stuff like that wasn't suppsed to happen anymore?

And don't get me started on how pissed i was at Banatuta, Rebekyakya, Tomotantan, Yita, Bimigitimi, and Soroku, who were the party that stole it from us. (Those names kinda look like Gilsellers to me but idk)

Supposively this isn't supposed to happen anymore ~ however this new "claimage" system is crap.... And obviously with what happened to you it's even worse crap that most of us realize.

Another reason they did this was so party members wouldn't be mpk'd by another party ~ i.e. a bard sleeps a few mobs near the camp for chaining and one of the slept mobs goes yellow and another parties puller tries to pull the slept mob and they get claimage and the claimed mob beats up the poor bard that initially claimed it.

What happens now is this ~ I claim a couple mobs for xp and sleep them both by camp one stays red one goes yellow, another bard or puller comes by and hits the one in yellow ~ it doesn't go purple and still comes after me. Giving me an opportunity to reclaim or resleep it or the opposing puller an opportunity to use larger hate techniques (aka voke or utilizing a weapon etc).

So the new system puts NMs in danger of being stolen ~ especially for those utilizing pets ~~ SE didn't think this through all the way ~ and they screwed it up worse....

There will be never a fully bullet proof system in claim system. The system in the past , and the system now are all are all OK in different prespective.

It sucks to have NM taken due to pet swap , but now GS or other groups cannot train an army of monster to kill you too directly (but trying to make them aggro you directly) or indirectly (by self destructing and AOEs). It is a 2 way game.

Just got to make adjustments when game masters changed the mechanics. Sometimes.... you just have to blame bad luck. I think it is wrong to blame SE for "******** up," when they DO fix other problems -- the days of MPK in Serket camp and people complaining BST and SMNs exping off bombs are long gone.

I don't mind ranting for bad luck or misfourtune, but I think is more fair not to blame someone unjustly.

Add: Do remember the new system does not allow other groups to turn a mob color unless the other group has more hate. When a mob got disengaged by pressing the button or from death, mobs do turn yellow -- that is not something new. In the NM camping world... you just have to be extra care not to lose your claim, and in princple it is bad to expect others to play "fair." The only fair rule is how SE sets the claim system.

I just don't like deal with it, so I rarely camp NM.

That is true Amanada ~ they did fix a couple things with the claimage system... I guess it'll take us awhile to figure out the nuances ~ after we all figure them out maybe we'll all decide they did a positive thing. And maybe perhaps SE will tweek their new adjustements a little bit more so persons with pets won't lose a claim. I didn't mean to state that it was entirely bad ~ it isn't totally bad to have my party be able to save my bardly behind if someone wakes a mob that I slept and it comes for me...

Sorry if I came off a bit sour at SE... Just didn't have a lot of time to type out my answer and it definetly came out that way didn't it lol =^.^=

I once talked to a GM about GSs holding Morion Worm by not killing it (SE did fix that eventually by allowing Morion to despawn if not killed in a reasonable time). GM said grief tactics by whoever (he is being general intentionally) are really created by the players.

It is like you can go into someone face and say F**k you 10 times. Saying F**k you in someone's face is being a$$hole but not a crime, but if you beat up an a$$hole for cursing in the face that you committed a crime... So you got to be really careful what you do.

Add: of course sometime being an a$$hole is bad. Welcome to RL, there are people don't care if it is crime, they just pull the gun out if they are pissed. So there is good to not to be an a$$

I used to play Magic The Gathering -- and people push the rules or play with rules to their advantage -- it is nearly part of the game. There are good reasons why there are GMs, Dunegeon/Game masters or judges in MMORPG, Table top, or boardgame/chess/trading card tournments... and their job is simple -- interpret the rules to its essence. If you make the wrong move and gotten beaten, the judge is not going to side you.

Sorry to hear about LoO .. that is huge pain in the ***, but atleast you got claim ^^

Now regarding this new enmity change... I was running in Xarcabard last week and saw a fellow blm solo'n some elementals. Possibly skilling up his scythe or he ran out of mp cause he wasn't casting anything. So, i tossed out a cure3 just to keep him up while our pt was sneak/invis and heading to kill DS. Right about the time we were reaching the top of the hill to the Castle here comes the pesky little freaking elemental chasing after me. It literally followed me 1/2 the zone because i still had hate generated from 1 sticking cure3. Now i'm not sure if that other blm died or warped... but something made the hate shift to me.

Not a huge deal in this case... but you can imagine how this will cause problems all across vanadiel

That might be...but you suck at bumping old threads..and 5 in a row at that.
Any reason why or you just want to be an ***?

Anyways welcome to Cerberus forums...try to be on a resent subject/thread if possible. If you want/need to bump something at least have a reason to do so.

Because pets have their own hate scale basically, it is real easy under the new claiming system for BST and SMNs to lose claim now on stuff like this :\
