Question apon returning... /sighFollow

There's always the line.

What do I mean? I think anyone who's been playing this game longer than 6 months will agree with me that this is a very addictive game due to the extensive content and the requirements of massive amount of time to get things accomplished.

There's a point to where the game is a hobby, and then the game is your life.

Without a pause button and the interaction with other people, the game already isn't your typical videogame you get off the shelf. You have to be prepared for what lies ahead, and the dangers that you'll unleash when you log in. Be prepared to upset people you know, that you'll most likely try not to ignore, but are forced to anyways.

So I guess I'm trying to say that if you can keep this game as a hobby instead of your life, then you'll be good. Many people as well as myself have fallen victim to the time consumption of FFXI.

Let's not joke ourselves. You wouldn't post here, if you hadn't already made up your mind of coming back. So lets ask the question that you've been wanting me to answer. >.>

How do you know if you past the line?

Ask yourself this, when you are on the game at any point in time.

Are you playing right now because you are having fun, or are you playing out of habit?

If you really don't know if you are playing for fun or habit.

For me, fun is usually a cheerful feeling accompanied by anticipation, excitement, blah blah etc.

For me, habit is a drier feeling. I feel low. Sometimes I'm bored, but still on the game. I may feel like I should be doing something else.
