Ok... more questions for you high level monks. LoL. I finally hit 69MNK yesterday and I am starting to get anxious for Asuran Fists. I've noticed that my wait time is getting lower and lower on LFG and more and more people are actually SEEKING a monk to fill the pt. This is great but the one great pt I had disbanded less than 2 hours into it. Bah.

My question is when do I start being pursued for the KRT parties? Also, are they really all that I hear about? I've been told as soon as 70 that monks get picked up for KRT parties due to our ability to open/close Light. Is this true or will I be waiting for Asuran Fists (which is actually a darkness SC for 2 man, or opens Fusion for 3 man light).

Levels 65-69 have been very slow (picking up lately though) and I'm really really wanting that WS. Should I expect it to continue to be slow until after 72? Or will I see 70-72 just fly by? Thanks in advance for any info. :-b

I found 69-72 to be a little slow. Bone parties offer a bit of potential but they take just the right mix, and the really fast chains dont start till 74-75. But they are still solid XP in KRT around 70 and they offer up 200+ per kill.

Sky was where I gott most of my XP. As a monk I found Jars to be amazing XP. They were the only IT mob in the game I could reliably hit for over 100 per fist. Jars are just as weak as bones to H2H, but seem to have lower defense, and no aoe blind nor ice spikes to paralyze. Again, not every party is suited to jars. They hit hard with AOE, but the gravity effect they cause is just a nuisance for your puller more then anything.

Around 70-71 I seem to recall the jars that drop the water were ideal XP mobs. Higher level parties will show up fairly often trying to farm water, and there arn't enough of them on that floor to get really long chains. But if you can level up and farm water at the same time, your LS will be very happy.

Otherwise its weapons... lots and lots of weapons. Or Bibiki bay on the dreaded dhalmels and high evasion blaggers ^^

KRT didnt pick up for me until 72+, and only really got going at 73. The asuran fists spamming repalces light SC the moment you try out a pair of Wahgs... this weapon was designed for that purpose. They are cheap, readily available, and when used for spamming they have one of the best damage/delay ratios of any weapon in the game.

Nice I'll keep all that in mind.

My last 2 parties have been on Hobgoblin Physicians and Anglers in the bay. They just seem like way too much hassle for 150 exp per kill (usually have at least one 70 in the party). The Aeroga III bursts on the Catoblepas I've seen in previous parties were pretty nice though.

One thing I really hate about the bay is I have to create ACC and STR gear macros due to the eva of the dhalmels and higher tier gobs. It's just annoying. LoL. Maybe the dhalmels won't be so bad now that I hit 69. I guess we'll see. >.>

Dhalmels will always be bad ^^

Unless they berserk.. that is a godsend to the melees who use sushi. The tanks and whm don't seem to share our enthusiasm for a Berserked 8000 pound camel-thingy, sadly.

LoL I prefer the dhalmels or gob alastors. Although Healing Breeze does tend to **** you off a bit. :-D

I had a pt with Dumpalotapuss with 2xBLM and it was nuts. LoL. 2x Aeroga III bursting a Light SC is something to see.

The pt I had a few days ago with Jynow, BlackLeo, Astorius, and a couple others was ripping through gobs like it was nothing. It's just too bad everyone had to go so soon. ><

There will be a 69MNK lfg tonight at 29k tnl if anyone wants me. LoL. I'm thinking about trying out THF sub since it seems to be all about the MB out in Bibiki. Granted I'll keep WAR if the party prefers, but I know how everyone wants to see that 800+ Dragon Kick. >.>

LoL. Well you can open a 3 person Light SC for me. :-D RLB -> RF -> DK. I love crushing coffer key skeletons with that. :-b With a 51PLD and 51MNK we were able to drop Tomb Mages from almost full health with that SC. LoL. So fun.

Ok let me just say.... MNK/THF SUCKS! LoL. More power to any monk that can do it successfully, but man, I sure can't.

I tried it last night in Bibiki Bay and it really n00bified me. I couldn't keep up on TP (no double attack), my Dragon Kick wasn't doing much more (even with a full other set of gear macroed in), and my dmg per hit was atrocious (sp?). Bah..

/em waves goodbye to THF sub for his Monk

Anyways... 18.5k tnl 70. Anyone need a monk tonight? LoL.

Oh, I also want to say thanks to those that are realizing what a Monk is capable of lately. My average pt wait time has been like 20 mins the last few times I've been LFG. /bow

I can help you get another one -- I think it is dropped in Castle Oz...

The key to beating Maat -- Maat always peeps under Amanada's skirt, and you know that dirty old man needs some spanking in his buttocks!

;)

I've got some people that need G3 in the LS so Castle O can kill 2 birds with one stone. I don't have that trinket thing for Davoi so I can't open the gate. :-/ (And yes I know Champions spawn outside there. LoL. I just like to complete 2 things at once if possible)

i'm 70/34 (yes, gimped sub) on brd. but we both know that's not going to matter much since i'll be using primarily songs (i still need some equipment though... that i really ought to get).

so what does that tell you? =)

(throw in Craya's 69 BLM or 71 SMN, to balance the equation... =p)

I'll be pulling an all nighter tonight I think. I want to at least hit 70 tonight. Then I'll try for testimony and Maat tomorrow probably before I go out. Then Sunday (after Garrison) and Monday are to 71. Hopefully. :-/
