Now that my gear is pretty well stabilized and I'm starting to amass some cash again,. I'm thinking of taking a plunge in the transmog pool. Unless I'm wrong, my understanding is that transmog laets you take your gear and cosmetically change its appearance without harming its true look. What I have in mind is ranger, camo, heavy on black and grey with some silver.

Does anybody know of some pieces which approximate this look? Just wondering - off class- has anybody ever put together a rogue with an all-black or all-dark-grey ninja look?

This guide is a good start. Remember, you can transmogrify any mail armor, even armor meant for Shaman. Yes, this means you can get a kilt as a Hunter. Smiley: lol

For your weapon, I recommend this bow model list, and/or this blog on bows.

I'm using the Mistshroud set, which I hadn't even known about before seeing a pointer on http://wowroleplaygear.com/. The primary colors are dark slate and dark olive, with deep crimson and old gold underlay at the joints. It's very rare BC gear, since it requires grinds for Consortium rep (to Exalted!), collecting many drops from mobs at the tip of Blade's Edge, and a month or two of clearing heroic Mana-Tombs. (On the bright side, the monthly Consortium gem bag from the guy in Nagrand is now worth close to 10g instead of 2g.) Not exactly camo, but it's far from bright, and has a very huntery vibe to me, like I could blend in if I really wanted to, or be visible if that's what I wanted.

The site I linked both has plenty of descriptions of gear sets that look good and links to other sites. Some of the best are actually BC-and-later greens, if you're looking for understated rather than ostentatious. I'm not particularly fond of any of the early hunter tier sets, which influenced my choice to go somewhat off the beaten path.

The costume is almost a secondary benefit, though. What I'm most looking forward to is when I get my hands on the best weapon for this tier (even the LFR version) - which is a bow, AGAIN - I can at least make it look and sound like a gun, so no-one will have to know that I'm using a flimsy elvish toy instead of a true boomstick...

thanks for replying.

The grey beastmaster set comes close to what I'm seeking. As for my bow, I'm currently using the Ravenheart longbow and rather like its look
