Ok so I have been looking at the new... "Talent Trees". I put that in quotes as I do not really feel you can use that old moniker for the new beast. I am really excited for Shaman. It looks like they are going to be changing totems up. About time is what I think. Buffing Totems were always sort of silly, as you dropped them and while they were nice, they were clunky looking. The idea that you can, with talents, drop multiple totems of a single element is awesome!

Not sure how you all feel, but I am excited about the changes coming to shaman. I may have to re-subscribe!

My head is swimming over the possibilities of dropping multiple totems of the same type. Earthbind without losing your protective totem, Multiple damage totems, Healing + Mana regen (assuming those aren't considered 'buff' totems).

I'm withholding my opinion on the totem changes until I see what totems will be available and for what specs.

That is most wise Astarin. That being said, you are allowed to be a bit excited. I feel like Shaman will be more fun in general with the changes being made. Not sure that is true, but hopeful.

One question, though... what am I supposed to bind these million new totem combinations to? Smiley: confused

My Warlock is laughing at my Shaman right now.

Not sure that your Warlock can keep laughing for long. I think the pet situation for Warlocks is going to get more interesting. As well if you are Affliction, your need for Soul Shards is going to be pressing (hopefully). I am hoping that both Shaman and Warlock are going to be more interesting to play once MoP comes out.

Been looking over the talent tree some more, with my Resto Shaman in mind.

Damn you, Blizzard, for making me choose between Nature's Swiftness and Echo of the Elements. Nature's Swiftness, in addiction to the instant cast every 2 minutes, provides a passive 5% haste (wonder if it stacks with the totem...), while Echo occasionally duplicates your spell casts (think Elemental Overload, but for heals as well).

Imagine if Echo procs on Healing Rain... like... I can't even... two Healing Rain on top of each other? And Chain Heal... Smiley: drool2

But an instant Greater Healing Wave has saved many a wipe for me. It will be a difficult choice.

Maz, I think that for healing consistency is always better than RNG. I think you will be able to easily mix and match the talents on the fly. I feel like Echo of the Elements will be great on fights where you have some wiggle room, while for most fights, Nature's Swiftness will be more reliable. That being said... I just don't know how that will pan out.

I should also add that I am really excited about Ancestral Guidance for my Elemental Shaman.

Depends if the 5% haste stacks with the totem, I suppose. I'd trade Nature's Swiftness alone for Echo. Especially if Echo works on AOE heals, like Chain Heal and Healing Rain. That would be ridiculously sexy.

I can see that Maz, but what is the proc rate? Nature's Guidance is a known entity, so I can see it being better long run. That being said, I feel like the sexiness of Echo might be enough to justify living on the wild side!

I'm inclined to say that Echo only works on targeted heals, and possibly only single-target targeted heals. But I've been wrong before. So far, I like Nature's Swiftness.
