Hey there. My hunter alt isn't anywhere near being 85 (only 20), but I'm trying to plan out what professions I'd like to have on him when he does finally reach that cap one day. While leveling, I plan on choosing the gathering profession that goes best with the crafting profession plus one of the other two gathering professions to build up some gold. I was thinking of alchemy or jewelcrafting, and while they have awesome perks, everyone these days seems to have those professions, and I have that itch to do something a little different. Then I thought, "What about leatherworking?" and sure enough, the sticky (yes, I read it :P) said that it's the best single dps profession come end game. However, it was last updated in December 2010, and I was just wondering if that still holds true. Also, I was wondering how profitable and in demand leatherworking is? Is it going to be one of those professions that's useless to others and not sought after? Will I be able to make any sort of gold off it? Or should I just go with either alchemy or jewelcrafting, knowing that it's possible to make gold off of and is always needed by someone? I guess the main point is: will it be worthwhile for all the work and gold I'll put into it and will I see returns? Thanks for any help, and sorry for the massive block of text. :]
