Here's the Pre-Heroic list as I see it:
Weapon:
Mace of Transformed Bone Shield:
Elementium Earthguard Relic:
Halted Clock Head:
Helm of the Proud Neck:
Mountain's Mouth Shoulders:
Earthshape Pauldrons Back:
Wrap of the Great Turtle Chest:
Breastplate of the Witness Wrist:
Armguards of Unearthly Light Hands:
Fingers of Light Waist:
Hardened Elementium Girdle Legs:
Stone-Wrapped Greaves Feet:
Ramkahen Front Boots Ring 1:
Elementium Moebius Band Ring 2:
Felsen's Ring of Resolve Trinket 1:
Impetuous Query Trinket 2:
Tia's Grace A few notes about the list now:
1)I included the JP helm because if, like me, you level as prot and you do your random daily every day, by the time you are done farming for the other items you need from the list, you should have no problems getting to 2200 JP. If you are having trouble getting the 2200 JP,
Helm of Setesh is an acceptable, if not optimal, replacement.
2)If you have a LOT of gold, you can buy
Pauldrons of Edward the Odd and use them until you get something better from raiding. It's a personal decision and a lot of it depends on how much they cost on your server. I included on the list the best item if you decide NOT to spend the gold.
3)The boots can be replaced with
Boots of Sullen Rock/
Gryphon rider's Boots, but I find Dragonmaw/Wildhammer rep to exalted to be a bit of stretch before doing any heroics.
4)This set is ridiculously easy to put together. 3 crafted items, 4 rep rewards, 2 BoEs, 2 quest rewards, 1 JP item, and only 5 boss drops. Seriosuly, can getting well geared for heroics get any easier?
5)Get the full list and your equipped iLevel will already be 339 before you even do a single heroic!!!
6)Unless you go for the Helm of Setesh over the Helm of the Proud, this set has 0 expertise. I, personally, do not think that's a problem, but some people may want a bit of expertise. If you are one of those people, there are items out there with ether dodge or parry and expertise on them. I'll stick with my mastery, though.
7)Tia's Grace is definitely one of the 2 best tanking trinkets available before heroics. You might **** some rogues off by rolling on it (and to be honest, the mastery is pretty meh for hunters and druids, so only assassination rogues should REALLY want Tia's), but if you do just remind them who it that is stopping that boss from rofl-stomping them.
If you have any qustions about why a certain item is on the list of think a different item should be on the list, please feel free to post or PM me. There are a lot of trinkets you can get, these 2 are just personally my favorite. You can also get 2 of the crafted rings if you like, but I prefer a more even mix of dodge and parry.
