Tank LevelingFollow

So my DK is sitting at around 72, and thus far I have been LFGing once or so a day and doing Questing the rest of the time. Lately I have been considering just doing LFG over and over again and leveling that way.

Has anyone tried this? If so, is it a viable alternative to the quest grind?

Missing the lore isn't an issue, I've leveled a 'lock and Rogue through it already.

I have done this with my priest all the way 70-80 and am doing the same with tank paladin (now 44).

On the plus side, if you play your main spec once you get to 85 you should know it inside out and _should_ know what is expected from you to face any instance, heroic or raid (skill wise, not gear wise).
On the minus side, it's boring as hell to do the same stuff over and over. When you're low level, and you have heirlooms, levels fly by so there is some variety. 70-80 (I've done it before Cata) it's a pain.

Why do I do it then? Well first because the idea of leveling thru zangarmarsh, borean tundra or (add any zone) for the 7th time is giving me the creeps (more than repeating instances anyway), secondly because after years of raiding and stuff I stepped back to casual play, so immediate queues (tank or healer) + full rested xp almost always + mobs in instances giving lots of xp is a far better scenario than questing as far as I'm concerned.

So I am not the only one.

Yeah, my DK has heirloom gear which will help and I will base him out of Org for the rest XP. I am going to do it - if nothing else, like you said I want to known my tank spec inside and out when the time comes to start Heroics and Raiding.

I leveled my Druid through Northrend by doing dungeons over and over back in the days. Definitely viable, although it might get a little tedious in the long run.

I did 70-80 in one day by doing 80% questing and 20% random dungeons (+ heirlooms and flying). It was a long day. IMO doing only one thing gets boring rather quickly.

This was on a dps DK, unholy I believe.

While it is viable, I honestly wouldn't recommend it. I did it on my healing druid through all of wrath and on my tank Pally through Cata....but with the rep grinds you need to do to get some of the good gear, questing through the zones is a lot more fun and meaningful if you're not already level capped.

Although, waiting til your level capped before going back and doing Vashz'ir or Hyjal is quite satisfying....you can burn through the whole zone in like 2-3 hours (maybe less, iono, I have kids and need to take breaks often because of wife/child aggro).
