Why can mages not conjure Beer? It seems that with all of the magical power at our disposal we would be able to make a beverage that helps us deal with the intense mental stress of wielding that kind of power. It honestly feels like blizzard needs to update this as soon as possible.
In order to balance the ability I think we should have to talent for it, so:
Frost: Icehouse Brew
Fire: Rauchbier(look it up, and get some it is good!)
Arcane: Spruce Beer (you ferment this for a long time... so it goes with the slow theme)

Because beer is the drink of the uncultured, unwashed masses. The modern mage has a more refined palate and will likely prefer a more civilized beverage. Something that would go with delicious cake elemental.
Also, I really can't understand the obsession with alcohol in game that some folks have. I mean, I can understand RL alcohol, sorta, but in game stuff just makes things blurry and gives me a RL headache.

Poldy I actually totally agree. I was more looking to start a fun discussion about beer with folks that also like to blow stuff up. The combination just seemed right. The in game drinking is fairly weird.
I've actually known more mage non-drinkers than other classes (as for what the guildy raided with as their main).

I'm in that lot, there's just no reason to drink when there's safer ways to get intoxicated.

I'm more or less apathetic to the whole "getting intoxicated" thing, so I rarely drink and never do drugs.

Jay I am German, I think it is just a secondary feature of my bloodline.
My grandfather's name was Kuhlman. We were kicked OUT of Germany, and to be fair it was Hannovarian / Danish more so than true German, but I believe Hannover is part of Germany now, yes?
Quitting alcohol two years ago was easy for me, I suppose, as I didn't like the taste of most booze.
Sake and GREAT Polish or Russian vodka, though, sometimes I smell 'em and go mmmmmmmm.

I don't enjoy beer. And cheap wine is disgusting. But GOOD wine is quite satisfying.
I only ever have hard stuff in the dessert capacity. My brother brought back some great Amaretto from Boston a few months back. It was extremely tasty, but a little too sweet for me.

I suggest you try a good Sake as a dessert wine, room temp or slightly warmed. I challenge that you'll like it as much as any fine grape wine.

See I can't do all that hard stuff. I just get drunk, and I don't really like it. Amaretto with some Vanilla Ice Cream is nice, or mixed with Milk to take that sweet edge out of it. My big thing is that I drink stuff that tastes good to me. As they say YMMV.

Sake isn't as hard as people seem to think. Most sake you can get in the Americas is around 8-10% ABV, less than a table wine.
Plum Sake is delicious! I was more referring to the Vodka. That stuff just makes my throat feel like it is peeling.
Sounds like Grain Vodka. Potato vodka has a tiny bit of a tingle, but it goes down mostly smooth.
Basically, Grain Vodka is as much like Potato as a Corvette is like a Cobalt.
