Taking to much dmg. Follow

So I decided to go bear instead of kitty this expansion mainly because of the lack of tanks in guild and random queue times. I seem to take way to much damage in heroics and even in some regs. I do not understand what I am doing wrong. My gear seems ok. I'm at about 125k health self buffed. And I have 27% dodge. You can look at my spec and gear in the link below. Any advice would be great.

Sorry if grammar is bad using my phone to post this.

your link is broken. You need to use

Your gear and spec look fine. Basically just get your groups to use more CC. There is quite often a ton of damage flying around, so you either need a really solid healer or good CC to make it easy.

A couple thins that might help:

Don't forget Demo Shout.

Barkskin is on a 1 min CD; use it early, use it often.

Make sure you're actually tanking in your bear spec and not your kitty spec. Not that I've ever done that...

I've tried to tank in kitty spec many times, tried to do it once without talents at all. Kitty spec worked a bit better.

At least it's a little more obvious now. When you try to hit Pulverize and it doesn't work, you're probably in the wrong spec.

I have it on a shift macro under Lacerate so it would take me a bit to realize. Lucky the game tells you when talents reset these days.

Is this during boss fights? If not then use more CC where possible.

Ask your healers - is it you taking too much damage or the fact that everyone is taking damage and the healer can't keep up. If so, then the DPS need to do their job and stay out of the fire, interrupt casts etc. etc.

A little bit of gear seems to make a big difference as well. All 346 gear is much easier to heal than all 333 gear.

damn that's pretty smart. makes me wanna put swipe under thrash the same way.

swipe (mwdown) plus catform (shift+mwdown) has led to some close calls.

I have Thrash under Swipe.

Also for some reason I have Barkskin, shift+X, right next to cancel form, shift+C.

I have Barkskin on V, which is right next to C for the Character Pane. I make it a habit to copy my hotkey setup to other characters, so my other tanks also have their mitigation cooldowns on V, which leads to some unfortunate episodes while flying and wanting to check the Character Pane.
