I haven't tried it yet, but if you get your pet into the Red zone, will they attack you till you dismiss it? or what

I'm not sure if this is for real or a troll.

*sniff sniff*

Kind of smells like a troll, but I'm not sure.

I believe this and the other guy is trolling but,

no, if they are unhappy they will emote a lot saying they are hungry, er well acting hungry and I believe eventually just go away.

I believe Blizzard did away with pets "leaving". You can have your pet as grumpy as you want it, it will stay with you.
It will simply get unhappy, and if I recall correctly, do less damage than when it is happy.

I was always scared after taming a pet to be sure to feed it right away to make sure it didn't just leave me. Though with that tier 2 talent all I have to do is just mend pet and he gets happy.

As I thought.
The change to pets came with WotLK.
Before there was a pet stat called "pet loyalty". If your pet lost loyalty, it eventually ran away from you.
This was done away with when Wrath of the Lich King was released. Pets no longer have "loyalty".

A "happy" pet will do +25% damage.
A "content" pet will do normal damage.
An "unhappy" pet will so -25% damage.

Well that's good to know. At least I don't have to worry about it as much anymore.

It's a shame they did away with loyalty.
If you ask me, hunters who fail at taking care of their pet should have the pet turn on them, bite their head off and eat the character.
At which point the character gets deleted and the hunter class locked for that account.

yes, agreed.
Hunter class should be only temporarily locked... maybe for a month?

Nah, indefinitely.
With the only option to unlock the hunter class again being a 3 month taking care of animals course.

Or completing a harder D.E.T.A questline. That involves saving some of the hardest animals to find. Preventing the other faction from killing X number of creatures...That would be awesome.

Personally, I think that if they do get angry enough, they should become skull bosses that attack their master, don't acknowledge the existence of any other players, and then disappear as soon as the master is dead.

So....because I'm bored and stuff, old story time. When pets attack!

My night elf hunter was working on her pet taming quest--the one where you have to go use the rod on the owls, etc, etc. Now, I had found an owl I really liked, so I decided to keep him around for the full duration. Instead of despawning, he attacked me when the charm wore off--and I was thrilled, thinking I would get to tame him for real!

I was in Dolanaar, though, and the guards killed him. ;_;
