With the imminent release of patch 4.0.1 I've been looking at the new talent trees and trying to decide on how to spec primarily for end game raiding, currently I'm looking at a 3/5/33 spec for lvl 85.

I think I'm generally happy with this at the moment, my only concerns being how to spread talent points between Totemic Focus, Cleansing Waters and Telluric Currents, but as Citrustorte says:

Since we're being a bit more careful about when we heal, there's a bit of extra time to sling some lightning bolts, and I actually did notice a difference in my mana. Will try and pay attention to exact numbers next time, but so far it seems to be a positive!

Since it seems that Telluric Currents may be worthwhile, I've put 2 points into it, but I haven't seen enough theorycrafting to say whether this is right or not, so does anyone have any thoughts as to whether the spec I'm looking at is sensible, or any ideas for doing it differently?

As an aside I think that my starting spec at 80 will be 0/5/31

I'm sure it's an error somewhere but the 2nd rank of Cleansing Waters is the exact same as Rank 1. Could be useful, but just doesn't seem as good as the other stuff you mentioned.

In the latest build Cleansing Waters also reduces the mana cost of Cleanse Spirit, which has circumstancial benefit. It's skippable, but so is Blessing of the Eternals, and also Nature's Blessing if you're strictly raid healing. Totemic Focus should be read as "increases the duration of your Mana Tide totem by 20%/40%", as this seems to be the main reason to take it; it might seem more appealing in that regard.

No Ancestral Swiftness? To me this is the best talent Blizzard have ever given Shamans; I'd rather drop Acuity than this to get the "fun" talents like Focused Insight.

Now that (1) I've got the Artic Wolf Glyph (2) found out that Ghost Wolf works indoors (missed that in patch notes), I might have to respec for Ancestral Swiftness.
