Weapon choiceFollow

I have a question about choosing a weapon versus my spec. In my combat spec ATM I am cussrently set up with HaS using an Axe MH and a sword OH. I assume that I would always want to use aaa sword/axe combo with this spec however my offhand is the Avool's sword of Jin and I got the Blood weeper last night from Hero FoS.. Should I use the Blood weeper as my off hand or is it pretty much set in stone that I dont want to equip weapons out of my spec?

It's not really "set in stone" per se as the fact that having weapons for a specific specialization just increases your dps even more.

Considering the Blood Weeper is higher in dps and stats than the sword, I'd go ahead and use it as an OH, until I can either get another axe/sword, or another dagger to respec into CQC.

At least, this is what I'd do.

I haven't really be on here too much, but last I remember, they're removing the specilizations anyway when Cata comes out, so it'll be a whole lot easier to just upgrade weapons and not worry about respeccing or splitting up your points between the two.

I'll let one that has more current knowledge answer even more though.

Blood Weeper is speed 1.8, Avool's is speed 1.5. So, assuming a 0.1 speed improvement (for OH, faster = better) is still worth roughly 10 DPS, the speed difference almost offsets the DPS gain. Add that to the fact you lose the weapon specialization benefits from HnS for your OH, and I suspect you're better off sticking with the sword.

Hard to say for sure, as the stat bonuses are also better on the dagger, and Avool's has a chunk of hit which you may or may not need. As is usually the case, the best answer is to use the spreadsheet, but you may have to manually add a load of your gear if it's not very high level.

@Nocturnal, another dagger would see you speccing into Mutilate, not CQC - you always need a slow, hard-hitting MH for Combat specs. Fist, yes, dagger, no.

That's what I meant... fist, not dagger... It's been a long day. Don't hate! =P

No hate here, just thought I'd mention it :)
