Found a blue about OoC.

If I had to guess, Omen of Clarity will be a trained ability. It's too useful to different kinds of druids. Even if you put it shallow in Resto, Feral wouldn't be able to benefit from it until very high level.

But we'll see.... (Source)

Makes sense for something that is mandatory for all druids to get.

Wow.....they were obviously rushed out. This is the first time I have looked at anything from the beta info and been badly disappointed. They even state that they haven't done much work on many of the classes (including us druids) but what they have done is a pretty poor mockup. They have reduced some talents to 2 points instead of 5 but only give the bonuses of the current 2/5.

I tried to make a resto build and there is only 2pts in the 1st tier and 3pts in the 2nd that are in any way useful to a resto druid.

Really looking forward to seeing these updated fully, but I think Blizzard did themselves a strong disservice in releasing them in such a poor state - even for a beta.

They needed to rush out a new base version of the 31 point trees thought to start getting iterations on the design process.

But ya lolferal looks the way to go now. I mean you could get some more dps or tank power by going resto but the utility of the near perfect OT is too strong and yet terrible at the same time.

All, well most of, the talents after the first 2 tiers need to be over budget but role conscious with something really sexy for cat and bear in tier 2 of resto if they want a cat vs bear spec to be an actual choice.

Otherwise do to the huge level of raid utility the choice is all ready made for us by the spec's design.

-6% spell damage takes is pretty sexy.

I found a lot of the trees right now to have nothing to do with "fun choices" but more to do with ********** it, I'll put this point in utterly useless talent #4 because there's nothing good to get".

I agree but still as a serious tank I will have Tank MS with that and other stuff and lolFeral spec as OS for less tank intensive fights and trash. lolFeral being good at both with minimal loss from off tree talents makes it too strong of a choice. Most fights don't need 2 tanks at the same time all the time and more pew pew will usually win over a minor shift in survivability. Especially if tanks have more HP and the new healing stuff they been talking.

Unless they're planning to really change how raid tank damage goes out, -6% spell damage isn't that special. It's nice but not 8 points nice.

I hope those trees are a joke.

And I'm sad that they removed Improved Leader of the Pack. Was hoping I'd get to solo some of the old instances in Cataclysm. Instead they seem really determined to make Ravage somewhat useful for the first 10% of a fight, which, in my opinion, is ******* retarded, given that we need 30 seconds of ramp-up time just to get our decent DPS rolling. I honestly don't see how six seconds of Ravage spam is going to make our lives any easier. And yet there are two entire of these so-called "fun talents" designed towards it.

Disappointed.

I'm really upset at the removal of leader of the pack, and you know that DK's aren't going to lose self healing.

I'm really hoping that 'Feral Druid (?)' as a level 10 learned skill includes the self healing.

I'm entirely underwhelmed.

I don't even know what to say. So few options, so little possibility.

Resto used to have choices between Tank-healing builds, and raid healing builds, pre-haste-capped vs post-haste-capped, etc. I don't see any of that. Feral is pretty cut and dry too...

Apparently druid is one of the ones that is relatively undeveloped yet, this is just a first draft. So maybe it'll get better.
#39 Jul 14 2010 at 1:13 PM Rating: Good
Yeah, druid's the least completed of all the classes.
#40 Jul 14 2010 at 1:21 PM Rating: Good
Kind of funny/odd since they were the only class I could see that was at 90%+ completion in the old system on the alpha servers :p

I'm happier with the Resto talent tree now. There's still a lot of those +5% healing things I thought they were going to do away with, but I actually felt myself pause and ponder where I was going to put my next talent point a couple of times.

That's a good thing. Smiley: smile

Can still go super-feral if you don't mind not having Feral Charge, but I still don't see SotF in the tree so I'm thinking that once they add that back (it'll probably be opposite Nom Nom Nom) you'll have to branch out to bear/cat more purposefully.
