Y'know, I really thought that if I contributed to the forum I might get just a wee bit of respect. Hell, I've even become friendly with posters here and have played with a few folks.

But this... this horrible affront cannot go unmentioned.

None of you rotten bastards told me how much fun playing a druid is. I had to wait until WotLK to level one and find out on my own.

The versatility. The fur. The flexibility. The crits. ZOMG, the dances.

For shame druid forum people. For shame.

Druids are incredibly fun, and super solo friendly. I think the only class I may like more at level cap (need to get him to 80 first...) is Paladin, because there's more healing and better "OH CRAP!" buttons. I don't like my rogue that much, and when I had my shaman at the old level cap (70) I enjoying playing her but felt like I took too much damage. Same with my mage at 60.

Druid I've never been upset with.

This.

What level is your Druid? Did you just get Flight Form or something like that? That's when the class really clicked for me. Being able to jump off a cliff or out of a lake and fly away.

Alone the fact that I don't have to worry about accidentally dismounting in flight. Add being able to prowl and go from DPS to tank in one click. I was killing Toravon the other night as kitty DPS when our (only) tank punched out with 40% left on Tora. Apparently she couldn't solo it after all. I clicked one button and was able to tank the rest of it without incidents.

It's still nothing like old Vanilla, but it's close, and it's making me all hot and bothered.

I've made plenty of cookies in my day, your fault for not being there to grab one. =P

Been 80 for a few weeks now but I'm finding myself spending more time on the druid than any of the other alts right now. Just gravitating that way especially after respec'ing feral/feral which makes gearing less daunting. I think the other toons are getting jealous... and they're plotting.

Still angry that none of you meanies told me about this well of fun times before. Could have saved me a lot of effort leveling other toons.

DURIDS IS MUST ALWAYZ HALP EECH OTHER

That's all I'm sayin.

Tell me about it.

DPS gear, tank gear and PvP gear. My bank is already full of my healing/Boomkin gear.

WTB hybrid gear, srsly.

As soon as I dinged I started farming ToC5 reg. Which of course gave me a few caster pieces.

Then I started looking at gear upgrades and I thought "Boomkin sounds interesting, healing was pretty cool... but to hell with 4-5 gear sets. That's why I stopped playing a paladin!"

So now it's just simple Bear and Kitty sets in outfitter. And my bank is sighing in relief.

<---- showed up late to the party.

Now what's this about cookies and beer?

Gear is no problem,
2 bags for gear.
1 bag for raiding consumables.
1 bag for stupid stuff like snowballs, rocks, and baby spice.
Still leaves you with 1 more bag for everything else ya? Smiley: wink

I'm an Alchemist/Herbalist and carry stuff with me for potions on the run. I think I'm rolling with ~5 empty slots on average. I put some stuff in the bank when I do my heroics (since I tank those) to make room for vendor trash. It's amazing what a trash weapon sells for.

I have in my bags Kitty & Resto sets as well as an old unloved Tanking set that needs updating badly (as in adding some of my new DPS pieces to it). Also, I have my town outfit (8/8 Tier 0.5 upgraded). Then there are the toothpics, Dalaran coin, chefs hat, reindeer mount transformer thingy, Rocket Helm from the Netherstorm quests and other misc.

My maxxed out bank is full of old tier pieces back to vanilla, every idol I have ever had, some old trinkets (Dragonspine Trophy!) and various quest items such as UBRS key, Nightbane summoning item, etc that you need to summon bosses or unlock things. It means that my bank alt (well...my mage) has to carry all my enchanting & LW mats and mail them to RareBeast everytime I need something cause there isn't room in my bags or bank....

I remember the good times before I server transferred when I was GM of my guild and had a whole guild bank tab to myself - absolutel bliss! Really hope Blizzard changes it to and account-wide bank at some stage - would make me very happy.

#14 May 05 2010 at 4:46 PM Rating: Good
Hey Rarebeast,

You could always make a toon and start your own guild for your own guildbank! I did it on my old server just for the extra space, finally got it up to 3 tabs even and only had 1 toon in the guild. Just had all my toons mail the stuff to the bank alt and had him store it.
#15 May 05 2010 at 5:50 PM Rating: Excellent
I will if it comes to it, but currently my mage has enough space in bags & bank to store everything. The fantastic thing before was having all my toons in the guild so any of them had access to my guildbank tab. Just kept all my mats & stuff in their and never had to worry about mailing stuff back and forwards.

Now, if my DK needs an enchant, I have to log over to my mage, mail the mats to my druid then make the scroll and mail it back to my DK. Makes it tempting to just buy stuff at a premium price on the AH because I am lazy :)

Having your own guild bank is pretty awesome. But not so awesome that it can house soul-bound items like Tier Sets. =(

Who needs to be a druid when you can hire one?

edit: Right now I'm pretty sure I'm going to get back to having just 3 active toons.. the goblin, the druid and either the warrior or dk depending. Druids are just too much fun =)

Ferals are the best kept secret in the game my friend, besides, if we told everyone how leet we were then we'd either get nerfed or everyone would play one. ;-)

Win. If it weren't for my muti-prep pvp build, I'd give HaT/ShS a shot. But, but... muti-prep!

I'm having a lot of fun on dailies with my JC alt, who's feral DPS.

I have basically frozen her at entry-level gear, 2pc T9 with ilvl 200 heroic/crafted in every other slot except weapon (which is a 219). With my average of 206 (I have no idea what my gearscore is, I consider that addon a virus), the "group balancing" logic in LFD likes to pair me with overgeared groups - averages of 230 are not uncommon. The only time I've not been one of the top two in DPS since I started this was when only the healer and me were under 245 average, and even then it was only by a few hundred.*

For some reason, linking of meters is not very popular.

* I'm leaving Utgarde Pinnacle out of the discussion. Every boss fight in there (save Gortok Palehoof) was designed to make kitties look bad.
#23 May 13 2010 at 5:12 PM Rating: Good
Hmmm....I must try this queueing with bad gear and seeing if I get paired with better PuG's then switch to my proper gear. That would make the instances a LOT quicker and more fun!

#24 May 13 2010 at 9:48 PM Rating: Good
The dungeon finder uses some average total of all the gear in your inventory, not just what you are currently wearing.

I know this because I was unable to queue for heroics at all on my fresh 80 dk who was wearing heirlooms, and then I bought the runed+crusader orb gear; hadn't even equipped it yet and suddenly I could queue heroics.
#25 May 13 2010 at 11:25 PM Rating: Good
I wonder if that means I should buy a heap of low level gear to keep in my inventory to drop the average iLvl in my bags :) There has to be some way to rort the system Smiley: grin

This thread made me chuckle.

I have, in recent days, been helping 3 separate guildies with their baby druids. I was thrilled to see these folks (who are normally a mage, a pally and a priest) all rolling my favorite class. There was a lot of tail chasing and bear dancing but in the end we got some stuff done.

We all met up in Moonglade for an impromptu DOs and DON'Ts of Druids. (IE. Travel form macro, gathering herbs while in flying form, Moonglade Druid only FP info and pointers on 'rotations' at low levels)

It is fun to see people clicking with such a versatile class that many of us have been enjoying for sometime now.

Just waiting on my all Druid Raids Mwahahahahahahaaaa!

Welcome to the Druidy goodness!
