Low DPSFollow

#1 Apr 22 2010 at 7:49 PM Rating: Decent
I'm a lvl 73 feral druid with a DPS of 345. What am I doing wrong? Is the DPS for Druids usually this low? Should I try to add strength enchantments to my gear? I need help!!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

An armory and priority list would be helpful.

Are you only auto attacking?

More info as 345 is a very trollish number.

1-how do I share the armory info so you can see the stats of the gear?
2-what do you mean by "priority list"?
3-no, I'm not auto attacking

You provide character name and server. (Or direct link to your armory profile)

I think that this guy is a troll but I'm cynical and expect the worst from the internet.

The general priority system is as follows:

* Is Faerie Fire up, if not FFF
* Is Rake up, if not Rake
* Is Mangle up, if not Mangle
* Is Savage Roar up, if not Savage Roar
* Is Savage Roar and Rip on the same timer, if so do a low CP Roar to de-synchronize the timers.
* Is Rip up, if not get to 5CP and Rip (always Rip with 5CP if possible)
* Otherwise Shred or Mangle

Kitty DPS is extremely shoddy pre-80. In fact, it's pretty shoddy pre-T9.

Mazra's rule to high DPS (lol):

If there are 3 mobs or more, spam Swipe.

On boss fights, a simple rule is:

Keep Mangle on the target. Keep Faerie Fire on the target. Keep Savage Roar up and use Rip whenever you have 5 combo points, unless the mob has 20% health left or less, in which case you just blow it all on Ferocious Bite. Smiley: nod

Doesn't work in raids, but for 5-mans it should at least get you up there along with the rest of the people in the group. 300 DPS either means your talent build is horribly wrong or you're wearing old armor. Make sure your weapon is top dollar - you get a lot of attack power when you switch into Cat and Bear Forms from your weapon. If you're running around with a blue level 53 mace at level 73 - upgrade it.

My characters name is Treibor and Lethon is the server.

When I'm in cat form I use:
Faerie Fire
Tiger's Fury
Mangle 5x
either Ferocious Bite or Rip, depends on the health of the mob

When I'm in bear form I use:
Faerie Fire
Demoralizing Roar
Swipe 2x for every Mangle.

If I'm fighting a couple of mobs, I use Beserk after Demoralizing Roar and Mangle 6x before it runs out.

Try to have Savage Roar always up. Use rake. Shred is better than mangle if mangle is already on the target.

On single targets, use Mangle only once then Shred afterwards. Make sure you have the talent point called 'Shredding Attacks' or your energy consumption will be craptacular.

Don't use Tiger's Fury right away. I prefer to use it when I run low on energy at the very start, enabling me to get a Rip going faster and thus increase my DPS. On AOE pulls I use Tiger's Fury after the first three Swipes to give me that extra Swipe in before stuff dies.

Note: You need King of the Jungle (talent) maxed as well.

OP

Your leveling, so Mangle, Rake, then Mangle until the mob dies. If you hit 4 CPs use FB.

While in an instance for single target, Mangle, Rake, Shred then Rip. Resume Shred until it dies, if Rake falls off use it again. If you recap CPs use FB as it is probably almost dead. Resume Shred while keeping Rake going afterward.

For many targets just spam Swipe until only 1 is left then see above.

Only hit TF when below 40 energy.

Come back at level 75 as it changes then. Also read the sticky, it will help.

How you are level 74 and don't have a hat is beyond me, fix that ASAP.

edit: Fix your spec to, it needs help. Again check the sticky. Answers are there. You don't have the gear to bear level.

I still need to sort out my rotation. I get this panic-twitch when a mob hits low health levels and accidentally use Ferocious Bite instead of another Shred. Shred crits for 10,000, Ferocious Bite at less than five combo points crits for 6-8,000ish. I once used a two-point Ferocious Bite which crit for 5,000 and took away all my energy. A single Shred would've crit for twice that and cost me much less energy. Smiley: frown

It's nice when you can weave a Ferocious Bite into the rotation, but it's hard to do, unless your crit ratings are insane. Even I have to rely on Clearcasting procs to pull it off, otherwise Rip drops before I can get five points again.
