Bye Bye dearest hunter!!!Follow

I thank everyone here for helping me rise to the tops of the meters and now Dietoliveko is a renowned name on Shu'Halo. However, I am retiring the old bow for now. I was recently discussing with my MM hunter friend about how much we loved beast mastery and how to fix it. His suggestion was blizzard remove exotic pets and allow for two pets to be out at all time, except they can't be from the same tree (Ferocity, Tenacity, Cunning). My suggestion was they remove exotics and give you a skill that summons all 5 pets for like 30 seconds doing 50% less damage. I concluded that if blizzard made anything like that for beast mastery hunters I would switch instantly regardless of dps because of the amount of coolness.

I have recently dual spec'd my resto shaman enhancement. (Lvl 65) Feral Spirits is a combination of both ideas, and those little wolves are a force to be reckoned with. If I can get this thing to 80 it might be my new main. The sad thing is this isn't the first time I've heard a hunter giving up their class for a shaman.

BM is only 100 dps behind SV in optimal settings.

1.6k behind MM though, but still it's a lot more viable than it used to be.

Meh, abandoning a Hunter for a Shaman seems odd. One is a ranged pet class, the other is a ranged or temporary pet class. It's not like you get to summon two Spirit Wolves and run around with them forever. They only last a while.

I would've thought you'd go Unholy Death Knight or Warlock instead, but I guess some people don't roll Hunters for the pet aspect - which tickles my funny-bone.

Tbh Maz I rolled my hunter at first because the ranged aspect interested me. I've always loved the "ranger"-type of guy. Shooting things from a distance and kiting stuff to death is just the kind of stuff I could do all day.
But then, the magical powers of Blizz had allowed me to reach lvl 10 and tame a pet. Damn I loved my red raptor. By the time I killed one thing, my buddy ate three others. Ah yea, I still have him in my stable.
Now I'm MM and my wolf/spider just stand there, scratching my target. I've lost the "I'm a hunter, now get eaten by my pet"-feeling, but I still just love to shoot and run my foe's to death. The pet just adds to the coolness factor now. Sitting on me talbukgoat, dismounting and having a lava spider waiting at your side is something I'd never ditch, especially not for some fancy wolves :D.

Oh but to make you happy Pots, the Cata changes seem lovely for BM, and I predict it being the spec with the best dps at 85. And 90% of the hunters will be speccing BM.
Ah well, that's just what I think, and I know I'll still be MM, I just love it :).

Yeah my sham is 80 and I am loving it. I originally rolled a Night Elf hunter for the lore feeling of it. You know protecting nature and its wildlife and conserving the balance, but shamans feel so much more fun for that aspect. I am guilty of being a semi-eco freak. Also I have a druid (Lvl 80 tank/feral pvp) but it doesn't seem to hold my attention in any spec, except I have had quite a bit of fun lately in feral kitty pvp.

The 9% extra steady shot damage did that much to the spec? Or have there been other BM changes I missed while druiding it up?

Gear.
I haven't really kept in touch very well with hunter stuff lately, but high end ICC gear seems to favor BM.
