Yeah, I noticed that as well. Definitely a nice touch to 3.3.3 as you said, lol. Of course we should have our hard earned range weapons shown, as that is our primary weapon after all!
You know honestly I do wish they would make the concept of a "melee hunter" a viable one though. There could be a lot more variety between the specs in this game and it could potentially make things a lot more fun, and interesting. Having a Beast Mastery tree was a good idea in my opinion that beefs up your pet. Not a bad idea since the pet is an important part to Hunter. BM tree was a good start, but looking past that, why does Hunter need two more trees where all they do is shoot there bow? I mean what's the point of that? Why not turn Survival in to a Melee tree?
You might say Survival and Marks are completely different, but in both specs you just stand back and shoot your bow/xbow/gun. Different skills yes, but you're ultimately doing the same thing. Some also might argue that Survival revolves around traps, and "staying alive". Well that's an "ok" idea to differ from Marks, but it's obviously not doing a good enough job at that then, because in PvE you hardly even use your traps (hardly ever on a boss...) and you're survivability is negligible. And if you'd like to argue it's a PvP tree for Hunter I'd like to kindly direct you to SK gaming and show you how most of the top Hunters are Marks, and that's the most common PvP spec right now.
Thread just got me thinking, I wish there were melee Hunters. No reason there shouldn't be. =/
