So when our guild does 25 mans we have this rule that you can only win one piece of gear, then pass on the rest so other people have a chance to get something unless there is no one else in your spec/class. Anyways, we were doing 25 man ICC last night and I was whispering my hunter friend if Deathbringer's Will drops (25 man ICC physical dps trinket) and I won I would never ask for anything again. That is all I wanted from the raid.

So we one shot Marrowgar. 264 hunter mail helmet drops. I roll a 54, then my hunter friend rolls something lower than me. I pass on the item because I want to be eligible for the trinket. The master looter accidentally gives it to me. I offer the helm to my friend but he insists that I just keep it. Once we finish the gunship battle, nice 264 hunter mail legs drop. I pass because I want to be eligible for the trinket. My friend passes because he is wearing the exact same pair of pants. The raid leader inspects me and then puts the leggings into my inventory because it was an upgrade from my 232s. So we keep trucking it.

We two shot Deathbringer saurfang and low and behold... The Deathbringer's Will drops. I am tripping out. Finally a chance to upgrade from my fury of the five flights! (Yes, I have been raiding high end content with a 3.0 trinket >.<) Anyways the trinket goes up for rolls. 44,58,11,20

BOOM! Dietoliveko rolls an 88! I am freaking out and cheering inside my room now! The master looter then proceeds to tell me I am passing because I already won two pieces of gear for the night. I offered the feral druid who won 2 primordial saronite for it but he said it was a BIS for him. I really should have expected this, lol!

Your guild has a crap loot system. It forced you to pass on two items which were huge upgrades for yourself so you could wait for one item. Those items might have been sharded because you were saving your roll for the trinket.

I mean really crap... like terribly bad bad.

That is a pretty terrible system, there is no reason people should be giving up on big upgrades just hoping one thing drops...What happens if it didn't, you're out a trinket and 2 good upgrades for yourself.

Your guild needs to rethink it's looting.

Sounds to me like the issue isn't the loot system, but that the OP is so hyped up over a trinket that he ignores two big upgrades.
