Is this just a bad hunter or is there some practical reason reason for a hunter to have that much dodge? And what was even better was he had fiery on both weapons. Sigh. He had the Jenkins title, so he couldn't be that bad could he? I never got that title, but it takes decent dps to kill all those whelps that fast doesn't it?

I'm thinking he just got those because he thought they looked cool. They do look distinctive, that's why I clicked on inspect. I never saw a hunter wear weapons that looked like that before.

Is this hunter fail, or is there something I'm missing? He was a level 69 hunter btw, and the rapiers are for level 66. He had no pet at the time. Maybe he's a melee hunter who runs with no pet? Although I'm not sure that's even viable. I'd think you'd get your *** kicked in outlands with no pet, no healing, no ranged weapons, and wearing mail.

Lol, I don't know if this is a joke but I will reply in case it is not.

The jenkins title is very easy to obtain, you just need someone with 12k+ hp to touch all the eggs and another high level dps to aoe them once. The other 3 people can be random bodies.

Any hunter that doesn't use a pet is not very wise in the head. Without a pet you instantly nerf your class. I'm not sure what the actual number is but I'm guessing your melee dps vs your range dps will roughly equal about 15%? Mean that you deal 85% less damage being in melee range. This is not wise in the slightest.

I do recall reading about a level 70 dwarf hunter who played on a role playing server who claimed he had a horrible experience trying to tame a pet when he was young and he decided to never pick up a bow again. He tanked burning crusader beginning raid content with no pet and 1/350 bow and gun skill. Once again this is not wise at all.

I said all that to say, that guy you saw was a noob unless you are on a RP server and he has a good story as to why he is doing it.

On a side note a couple patches back blizzard did say they were interested in bringing hunter's melee dps up to 40% of their range dps.

40%? I didn't realize it was that bad. And no joke, I have a hunter, and pretty much know what they should have.

Not a rp server. But some people do crazy things just for challenge. I was actually thinking about levelling a warrior with only gray item drops lol. I'm not sure if that is even possible, however. gray item melee dps is not very good.

And I never made any serious attempts for Jenkins. I was in there solo with my resto shaman, I got nowhere close to getting it. But I suppose if you had a group it would be much easier.
