I was thinking warrior but i was told it was kinda hard to tank (for me anyway). So i thoght mabye Rogue, plz help.

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking?

Are you asking if playing a rogue as your first toon will be a good starter toon? If so, honestly all toons are good starter toon. It all really depends on your play style and what you'd like to play (if you want to play a warrior, go for it and try it out!). Although, as your very first character, any dps capabable toon will work (which is all of them. Depends on which "tree/spec" you go into).

I suggest going to the main WoW site and read up on the classes, races, and whatnot to get a feel on what you're getting into. Also, once you've finally decided on a toon, come back here and read the stickies in their respected forums.

Good luck!

I have 3 friends that started playing Wow a couple of weeks ago.
They played FFXI previously, and they asked me a simmilar question.

Since thay have no want for a healing class, my advice to them was to level a druid to a decent level instead of leveling a bunch of other classes to a lower level because the power and abilities increases greatly farther you go.

This will allow you to test out 3 combat mechanincs,
Spell casting -> Mage, Ele shammy, Shadow Priest.
Kitty -> Energy and Combo point mechanics of Rogue
Bear -> Rage mechanics of Warriors.
They will have to go another route to test out DK, Pallies, Huntards and Enh. Shammy.

One really like Druid and stayed as Kitty, and the other 2 started a Rogue.
They also tried Pally and Huntard, but gave them up to focus on Rouge.

I wish I had this same advice when I was starting WoW. My first 3 toons were Hunt, War and Mage.
Started a Rogue for sh*ts and giggles and never looked back. Those 3 toons are still lvl 56, 34 and 33 respecively.

Hope this helps.
And yes....... Rogues are AMAZING.

Also, as the other poster stated, read up on what you are getting into and what is expected from you when playing any class that you choose.

Thx for the info, and yes a good starting "toon" is what i was asking help with. I really don't care for most mage classes, the whole stand back and cast spells from afar is boring for me. I like the casting spells part tho which is y i played a hybrid job on ffxi (blu, hit with swords and cast sweet spells) so mabye druid would be best choice for me. But i will look up more info on all classes as soon as i can.

If you like casting spells along with bashing someone's face in, then perhaps try an Enhancement Shaman. They focus mainly on melee, but uses spells such as Frost Shock or Flame Shock.

Something you may want to look into, at least.

Alright might try looking into that, thx man. Btw sry for late response wasn't able to get back on yesterday after i posted this.

Not a problem. Like I said, just take a look into that class, and more specifically the Enhancement tree (elemental is more ranged dps). Usually you'd pull a mob with a lightning bolt or two, use your shocks and melee them down (unless you just feel like running up to them and hitting them in the face).

Check out the Shaman forums here as well. That should help out as well.

Yeah.... Enh Shammy was my second lvl 80 toon i created just for the fact that it reminded me of my BLU.

With Enh Shammy, you get to melee like a war, get buffs on your weps like a rogue, cast a bit like a mage, get to use semi-heavy armor and get to cure yourself while leveling. And having the totem buffs are also sweet.

Unlike Blu, you won't have to sit there and get beaten on to learn a spell. lol
It was the toon that I was able to get to 80 the fastest. ( strong, good CC and self heals )

Just do your reasearch on any class you choose, before getting frustrated and dumping it entirely.

I wish they would take some aspects of FFXI and implement in WOW. I loved Ninja, and Monks! Rogues are kind of both but it would be cool to see a 2hr CD in this game. imo

Cool, thx for advice/help. trying not to get of topic here but i noticed on ffxi alot of ppl didn't like Wow for many reasons (it was to easy after playing ffxi, players r inmature, etc) is it the same on Wow. And also is there any truth to those romors?

Unfortunately, no matter where you go, you'll find a lot of immature players. (Some spamming trade chat "****" jokes)

But don't let that discourage you. Wow has been catered to be easier for beginners to start the game and level up in a pretty fast pace. A lot of the stuff that I heard about FFXI (I've never played myself), was the wait times to get groups and stuff. In WoW, you can solo all the way to 80 if you wanted. Getting groups usually doesn't take too terribly long (as a dps, at most, i think I've waited 30 mintues to get a group for an instance). But like I said, you don't have to run the instances if you don't want to. You can pick up any quests that you want to do and do them yourself.

Yea it does take a while sometimes, i look for 3-4 hrs sometimes and get notta. And one of the reason i stoped playing is becuz when someone dies in ffxi they over-react 70% of the time, bro's mate says MOST Wow players r more laid back.

It is because we don't lose xp when we die, but dying to an idiot pull, a lack of heals or dps on the mob still pisses me off when I tank. I can live with one or two but more than that I am out.

Yeah i can see getting mad at a death if somebody pulled a bonehead move and got u killed, but ppl on my linkshell..(i think its guilds on WoW) would get angry cuz they died of their own stupidity.

Ya they are guilds, I can remember I hated dying in FFXI but did it MANY of times to save the party. Here you don't pull aggro and run (instant death in an instance) so you just usually take it. As a rogue you can stealth and sprint which might save you some gold on repair bills, but is not always the case. You are going to find jackasses on every MMORPG
