Wow. Just.... wow.
Most of you might not know me because I've never posted on this side of the alla forums. Although I've always loved the druid class, I never really could get "into" one. Leveled one to 37 and it stayed there. Leveled one on another (PvP) server with friends who all quit that server, meaning that toon never got past lvl 37 as well. After leveling a rogue to 70, I had enough of leveling as an energy based class for like, ever, and leveling as boomkin took a lot of drinking without innervate or good gear.
Fast-forward to now and the LFG channel. I've leveled my druid exclusively through dungeons and he's now sitting at 52 and more than holding my attention. Groups now are usually really well geared at the most, and have at least 2 well geared players at the least. They really fly by, and I can't wait to do strat and other instances I've never ever done with a group. I'm already in full blues and one trinket, shoulders, chest, and staff from BoAs, and I've found someone with +30SP to weapon on my realm. Glorious!
Yesterday, I make the decision that I really don't want to tank on him anymore(my main is a warrior tank) and would like to see what treeform has to offer. I re-talent my feral spec into resto, and re-talent my boomkin spec from heals/DPS into as pure a hurricane(just got rank 2 at 50) spec. I throw two talents into the +30% reduction in threat and give it a whirl. I join randoms and am sent into BRD. They have a key, and they've gone straight to the big rock boss first and wiped there. I run in, rez, and we are on our way. The tank is a bit overzealous on the pulls, pulling 2 groups at a time usually, and not taking notice to any pats. I hurricane after he's got good aggro, and hurricane again when its done.
What proceeds is the warlock posting his recount directly after, with me pulling 1k DPS. That's right, it's over 900.0!!!! Through the rest of the instance, my DPS is hovering around 700DPS thanks to a good healer and again, that overzealous tank. Aggro was never really an issue.
Afterwards, I joined another group and got thrown in as healer. I asked the tank if he wanted to play "kill my mana". I never went below 50% and never needed to innervate, even through constant chain pulls.
So right now, I'm happy to say that druids absolutely rock. One more level for trees, one more level after that for typhoon. Druids! *goes kitty form* Theeeeeeyyyy're GREAT!
