I'm about to get my first piece of t10 on my dk and the problem I'm running into is this.
Do I drop my 4 piece for the great stat upgrade, if so do I go back to Frost DW because unholy shines with the t9 4pc?
Or do I keep my 4 piece and just save my t10 piece.
Gear in question is the t9 232 shoulders and the t10 shoulders.
Mind you, I have a 245 mh and 232 oh for dw frost and just a 232 for unholy.

I'd put the T10 in the bank and stay Unholy, then break it for 2pc T10.
Though T9 4pc isn't nearly as good as it was pre 3.3.
I wouldn't break it until I could move up to T10. You'd see a DpS loss. Even if you switched to Frost, it would be there.
Then, when you DO get the 2pc, your SSs will do 10% more. And that's amazingly sexy, considering they are the second-largest portion for your DpS...

Well, considering I don't raid and my emblem income is strictly from heroics and the weekly raid I might just use it because it's a stat increase. The 4 set bonus isn't nearly as good as it is for dw frost as it is unholy. I just figured the dps increase from the stats would overcome the loss of the 4 set.

Maybe I didn't look at the right pieces, but one didn't have much better stats than the other. It was just a small increase in Crit and Str, and a conversion of Hit to ArP (so I'm assuming you are above the soft-cap for hit in Unholy)?

No change from Armory (Unholy with T9 4pc)= 3790.04 DpS.
Unholy with T10 shoulders, same enchant and +20 Str Gem = 3786.54
Under a 5 DpS loss. If you like the look of the shoulders, go for it.

Don't you need trophies and stuff for it?
Edit: Okay, there are three versions of T10, apparently? Those that drop in the raids (or is bought from trophies that drop) and those you buy for Frost. Need to farm more Frost then.

However, I was in 5pc t9, so I still get the bonus from t9.

You have to purchase the first set of t10 251. Then the tokens drop to upgrade your t10 into 264, and the same for the heroic, you need the t10 264 to get up to the heroic versions of the set.
