Broccoli is awesome.

On a completely unrelated note, I just had to manually enter all my qualifications to date into the UCAS website (that's the central university application website for the UK).
To explain, I have 9 formal qualifications that add up to a total of 31 modules which I also had to enter manually.

I now have to repeat all the fun a few more times over the next half year or so. Once for Ireland, once for Sweden, then there's an application to a Dutch university that is not centrally tracked by some agency, and the one for Denmark with a form that doesn't seem to be available in English.

What I don't get is that UK application deadlines are fast approaching while admissions aren't even opened for the other countries where I am applying. At least the Dutch one will open in the next few weeks, though they haven't even specified the date.

You should come to the Netherlands anyway because we need more cool people here.

Yeah right, like I have the money.

If it wasn't my first choice, I wouldn't even bother applying, I can't afford it...

Everything is possible, you only need to figure out how to do it. Smiley: wink
And for Amsterdam I can help you figure stuff out.

Fees at AUC are a bit over 9k a year at the moment. This includes accomodation, webs and insurance, but together with food and such it still puts me at more than 1k a month.

Fees at Roskilde: none. For living costs in Sjælland, there's a few estimates out there, and the highest ones are pretty much exactly the same, while the lowest ones are more around 800 a month.

I just checked the site, it's cheaper than my education by a couple hundred euros a year and I can afford everything with less than €750/month to spend without much issues.

I'm not saying that it's easy to figure out, but that looks doable to me.
#283 Sep 30 2010 at 3:43 PM Rating: Good
1) I'm not Dutch.
2) If you check the site again, I don't think you can get a cheap place to live if you enrol there.

I don't think you have to live on campus or something, so there's always cheaper places to live.
Also, I think my expenses would be the same per month if I wasn't Dutch. I just wouldn't get that amount of money per month from the government with as little of it as a loan.

Edit: also, given that 2/3rd of the 12k figure they give is an estimate I'd say that it really doesn't have to be 1k+/month.

It said somewhere on their website that students do have to live on campus.

And really, the health insurance for example will most likely be higher for me because I really want some coverage that probably isn't "standard".

They'd be pretty much the only school in this country that wants that, then.
I would guess that they offer that option but it isn't required.

Happy Halloween everyone! Anyone dressing up? Anyone dressing up as your priest? I'm kind of picturing Dadanox sewing an exclamation point onto his homemade Loremaster tabard.

I am not dressing as my priest, but I do haz go-go boots, so that's almost as good.

Ah, a 6' 4" 200lb Dwarf in a tabard. Now that would be a sight. Smiley: laugh

- 6'4"
- Dwarf-sized tabard

You might need pants with that.

Or not depending on the situation.

Priest healing video from beta.

Has good commentary from a holy perspective.

Got dragged into MC today, was going to take druid but they killed the guy who drops his hat so took priesty instead.

Got the EoD, farmed the EoS within six kills and got a new staff to pimp around town in now.

I love that thing, I'm glad I got it myself earlier.

I wonder if the quests will still be there for the staff after the world blows up...

Is it just me or do people still seem confused by PW:B?

Nah.. its a big caramel bubble of loveliness. *shrugs* I've just cast it without saying anything, and no-one ran away like they apparently have with lightwell for some of you...

If the raid are confused tell them its like the 2nd phase of Malygos. When it changes to the -30% damage version, then I'll want people to know what it is.

I've seen the confusion, yeah. I've been in the situation twice yesterday on beta where there were three players spread out just far enough from eachother that I couldn't cover them with one PW:B. I ended up throwing the barrier right in the middle between all of them, figuring they'd be smart enough to move in. One guy pretty much ran away from it, the tank moved in after ~3 seconds of suspicious looking and the last DPS just kept standing on the edge of it until it was gone. To be fair, that guy was a total moron.

There's never been a healing class available to gnomes, so I've always had it in my head that gnomes can't heal. Gnome priest - it sounds wrong. 5% mana is a very nice racial tho, has anyone been tempted to go gnome?

So, I'm leaving my guild I've been in all through Wrath this weekend, transferring servers, and switching from Horde to Alliance. I just can't decide what race. I hate the way Worgen cast and run, so they're out. The +5% mana from Gnome sounds sexy, but I don't think I could stand having an urge to kick my character every time I saw it. Right now it's pretty much a toss up among the others.

I'll miss Arcane Torrent, playing a Blood Elf, and my guild most of all.

Oh well, the server I'm leaving (Echo Isles) is dead and progression-less. I'm looking forward to moving to Proudmoore with a few real life friends into a new raiding guild. I just wish my friends in my current guild could come too.

If not worgen or gnome, looking at stuff like racials, humans win. Extra spirit, handy racial spell like the PvP medallion trinket, plus bonus of faster rep gain for less grinding!

I'm Draenei. I get an extra heal I almost never use. Bonus hit, umm... useful for smite perhaps. But too attached to ever change.

Dwarf racials not so great, but you could choose to have spinning buns when casting resurrection!

Night elves, worship Elune, not the light. Shadowmeld spell can be useful in PvP.
