So, yes... I retired Arex my boomkin.

I no longer raid due to real life becoming more important. My playtime has gone down a little bit but I've begun to enjoy the game a whole lot more now surprisingly. I find it incredibly interesting that when I first started this game raiding was not my intention and I actually had no clue what raiding was. Well the day I dinged 70 I purchased a set of green spell power leather items so I could "heal" and made my way into my first Kara run.

Fast forward multiple patches, 3 tiers of raiding, one expansion and 4 more tiers of raiding I've seen quite a bit of the game. I find myself missing raiding on my druid, in fact I still would love to and want to see the Lich King fall but most likely wont. What I find most interesting is that I'm playing my dk more and I'm actually reading the quest text, immersing myself into the lore of the game. I'm doing things I used to never do on my druid. I'm soloing old raids and instances for the mere fun and enjoyment of it.

I've always been a completionist when it comes to games. Hell, I spent 100+ hours in FFVII getting myself a gold chocobo. I put in almost 15,000 combined hours across two different characters in a previous game. This sense of completion is now coming into my dk and I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

So as I continue to wax nostalgia I will say, fairwell Druid Arex. Live well in your 245 gear, enjoy the sights you saw. For now, it is time for Einziger the Casual to continue this wonderful ride called WoW.

But now who will I pester for laserchicken knowledge (whenever I get around to that alt)! Smiley: cry

Kidding really. Glad you're having fun, I know I started reading the quest text more while doing Loremaster on my druid and whenever I take some spare time to level my own DK, and they're really quite well written.

Glad to hear you are still enjoying the game with the DK, and I hope that works out for the best. :D

Be sure to keep stopping by druid forums. I don't know what we'd do without the God of all things chicken hanging out here...

You'll always be a druid to me even if your a bit darker..and ...deader..

I've done something similar myself, stepped back and become super casual. Just working on silly achievements, holiday events, collecting mounts and pets. While catching up on far to many console games I've missed out on (Little Big Planet (their cute darn it!), Dragon Age, Assassins Creed II, etc.. and mooning over BioShock II, Final Fantasy XIII, and Heavy Rain).

So long as your having fun that's all that matters. So be sure to still stop by and hang out the the bored druid thread sometime. Good Luck in your undeath! :3

Just wait until the first time you dismount in air or jump off a high platform. You'll be sorry! Bwahahahahaa!!

I'll be hanging around. Don't you guys worry about that. 99% of you guys are too nice so you need some form of a-hole in the druid forms to keep things interesting.

Besides, I'll always <3 mah allah druids. I stole two of you away from your servers to raid in my guild :D

Hey Arex,

have fun with the death-dude but good that you'll be hanging around on the druid forums! Not that you know me but as a forum troll and fresh druid looking for 'the way' I always read what you had to say.

but please change your signature, the part about teabagging almosts makes me puke, every time :-)

when I told my gf about this, she said she read about "snowballing" in a magazine and that I should mention it to you. Maybe you like it ...

I hope she indeed "read it in a magazine" :-s
