My little lock has just hit 68, and I am at a loss as to where in the pack I should be on her. I was in a recent pug (67 at the time) where I came in at the bottom of the dps meters against lvl 66 shaman and DK's. It made me wonder if I'm hitting the mark of where I should be gear wise, spell power wise or even using a proper rotation. Could you guys please offer me some advise on how to do better with her skills and gear.

Thanks for any help!

Your gear looks fine for your level. After all, you are just leveling up, so everything will be replaced soon enough. At least you are making good choices on stat itemization.

Your spec, however, needs some improvement. If you are leveling as affliction, you should definitely have Haunt by now as it is a primary spell. You should also be using more of a leveling spec at this point since I assume you are soloing quests and grinding away at mobs, where you'd want to focus on survivability and sustainability. Therefore, you probably won't have the optimal dps when running instances as you level, but you should still be doing quite well. Once you hit 80 and start heroics and raiding, you'd change your build to maximize your dps. I haven't specced as Affliction in a long time, but look into the 58/13/0, 63/0/8, and other builds and use one of those.

Drop the Glyph of Imp and look into Glyph of Haunt, Glyph of Siphon Life, Glyph of Life Tap, or Glyph of Curse of Agony. Also, you can have another minor glyph as well by this level.

You didn't mention what your rotation was, but once you redo your talents and glyphs, it should be more along the lines of:

Shadowbolt > Haunt > Corr > UA > CoA

Keep DoTs refreshed (but don't clip them) and use Shadowbolt as your filler.

I agree on the armour, and your Spec is a little out there. Leveling as an Affliction loc is a lot harder since Wrath came out. If you are concerned about the DPS, and at this time you really don't need to be, you might want to go the 0/41/30 demon spec or one of the Desrtuction specs for more DPS. The 41/30 spec is go up to Summon Felguard then hit the Desrto tree hard.

Thank you both for the helpful info, I tried Demo for about a week and missed afflic so went back to it, I really do prefer it for my play style. And seeing as I wont really ever have her in a raiding guild maximizing dps is not a huge priority. Right now I'm in love with the LFG and have been running those since the weekend, haven't really come across any decent gear pcs though. I will redo my build and get new glyphs as suggested.

Thank you again!!!
