I normally keep a pretty cluttered UI, example from TBC.
Last week or two I cleaned it up.
Just looking for some suggestion or if anyone has anything to throw in.
Character windows around my feet, because it helps with reaction time with fire in raiding. 22inch screen. Really wanted to declutter my screen and leave a lot of it open for viewing encounters.
The Obvious
- Bartender 4 to reduce space taken up by normal blizzard ui bars.
- Pally Power for raid buffing, death to scrubs who don't have it!
- Grid + Clique
- Sexy Map
- Chatter - So I can copy paste and control the size of my chat window.
- Recount
- Xperl, personal preference.
- DBM, personal preference bigwigs is great as well.
The Less Obvious
- clcbpt - Paladin Beacon of Light, Sacred Shield Tracker! In the picture it is the bars next to my character, very customizable and you can place where shows timer on your pally buffs like Beacon, SS, Infusion of Light, can also place sound warnings (audio cues are awesome) for when they are wearing off!
- GridStatusRaidDebuff - Fricking ace, even if you arent a healer download it now. IF YOU USE GRID AND DON"T HAVE THIS YOU NEED TO GET IT! Makes healing ****** easy.
- Grim Reaper - If someone dies I want to now how and why. Every serious healer should.
- Gatherer cause those repair bills aren't going to pay for themselves
- Atlasfu cause I like to know what loot won't drop for me.
- Fishing buddy and Fish Ping to make fishing less painful.
- Ensidia Fails - failbot 2.o, make sure you have announce turned off or people will kill you
- Recount - Guessed absorbs and failbot

Your mini map is a mess. I suggest using MBB from curse. Puts all your addons in a pop out menu in one button!
Other then that, I don't know what to say. Looks better than my UI.

I have MBB downloaded and used it but for some reason some of the buttons would show as not being there which I think was actually more to do with sexy map.

Opacity on SexyMap needs to be adjusted.
Personally I dislike using the frame/background thing on Grid.
I prefer SBF to EBB for buffs and debuffs. Either way lower the opacity and if possible try nd have the style more closely mirror the rest of your UI.
Having your picture in the unit frame takes up unnecessary space.
What is that second row of buffs below your unit frame? Some sort of aura switcher?
Where are your target, targetstargt, focus and other such frames located?
Where is your cast bar?

To add my 'basic tip' to the list, once you think you're "done" setting up your UI, look at every part of it specifically and ask yourself these questions each time:
1) Do I actually need this information to be shown?

I use GridSideIndicators to add more colored indicators to my unit frames, which is pretty keen for adding fight-specific debuffs and such (Mark of the Fallen Champion on Saurfang, Touch of Light/Darkness on Twins, Penetrating Cold, etc). I also use it to track my Sacred Shield and Bacon of Light.
Bhod, do you use modifiers for your action bars, or do you have a gaming mouse? I don't see FoL and HL on your bars. Also, where's your (de)buffs? I'd recommend Elkano's Buff Bars if you don't have another mod (and if you're using XPerl, for shame!).

I use Quartz for the cast bars, ClassTimer for tracking my important buffs (JotP, mostly). Focus frame is in the top-left, although not active at the moment. Combat text is Mik's Scrolling Battle Text.

I tried grid, it was alright, but I basically ended up setting it up like Healbot, so i just went back to healbot instead. Healbot has a nice hover tips system so you can remember some of those more obscure abilities you have mapped. really the only thing that I didn't see with grid. I can remember that I have divine intervention mapped to ctrl+mouse5 or whatever. (I don't think I actually have divine intervention mapped to anything anymore... accidentally hit it one time in a raid...) Everything else grid could do just fine, just a matter of familiarity I guess.

It adds raid marks to the Grid unit frames, which is crucial on fights for which you have to assign healers to changing targets (think Incinerate Flesh or Penetrating Cold).
Edit: A guildmate has informed me that this is now included in the newest version of Grid for 3.3, so you don't need to download it separately. Haven't confirmed.

Standard Blizz UI already does that for me. The number of times I Have tried Xperl, Grid and Healbot but I just couldnt get used to them. With Clique setup properly, one raidframe is as good as another.

My brain tells me how many stacks of Impale, my DoTimer gives the Beacon, Judgement and Sacred Shield timers. Druid HoTs I dont have a timer for, but I dont see why I should really. Never liked relying on anothers healing like that.
When you get to higher level raiding encounters. You have to have to trust your healing core. Most importantly your raid healers. I wouldnt go as far as saying you need to have timers for Druid Hots. But you have to develop an affinity with the people you heal with or you wont go anywhere.
I tried clcbpt before, and there were problems with it showing the correct timer for sacred shield when multiple occurences of the spell were on one target. I assume this issue has been fixed, but before it had I downloaded ForteXorcist and started using that. It works perfectly for the small information a holy pally actually has to keep track of.
Ive been using Xperl since I began healing in BC. Minus for about a month when I switched to grid due to EVERYPERSON bashing Xperl and saying grid was a must have for raiding healers. I spent a LOOOOONG time configuring grid, and in the end, I just like Xperl better. You can do EVERYTHING with Xperl that grid can do. I really beleive its a personal preference over which you use. The only downfall with Xperl is that its very memory intensive. But if you can handle it, then theres no reason not to use it imo.
The biggest downfall of grid is that it has to be configured into one box. I do not like that at all. I really like Xperls ability to break up the raid force into seperate groups.
Also, recently almost my ENTIRE guild has switched over to Deus-Vox-Encounters (DXE). As a replacement for both DBM and BigWigs. I havent yet switched over but I think im going to try it out. Im told its alot more effective than the other two and extremely customizable.
