How often do you use Mark of the Naaru at 80? Do you ever toss it on a tank to make the healer's job easier? I mean, it is a sizable heal (4K with 3K SP), if you are willing to sacrifice a GCD.

Do you only find yourself using it in PvP or soloing?

I'm just trying to decide if I want a Draenei or BE, and I want all the facts. :P

How often do you want to have a passive 1% hit bonus?

Also draenei are hotter.

Lol, I hate female Draenei casting animations.

The 1% hit sounds sexy, yes, but don't Mages tend to go over the hit cap naturally with gear? At least, that's what I have gleamed from the forums (PLEASE correct me if I am wrong).

I know my DK tank already has a ton of hit and I haven't tried to get it at all (he's at 10.x%--60 rating more than he even gets any use out of). I just figured Mages were the same, because everyone always seems to be promising that they aren't gemming for it.

Going over the hit cap is easy at some points (ulduar gear was super bloated with it, ToC a bit less so on some pieces). It is just a balance thing. I would decide horde or alliance first though. If it doesn't matter to you I would go with dranei for the hit, it is nice when you have that little bit of buffer incase the spriest dies or something like that. Right now I am at 13.87% hit (fire specced) putting me just under the 17% raid buffed.

On the other hand, I have to wonder just how powerful the gnome racial's gonna be come Cata.

That's a good question, but I would guess is that they are going to redo the racials again.

They said that ever race was getting new or buffed racials to bring them in line with the Worgen/Goblin ones.

Darkflight (3 min cooldown)
Activates your true form, increasing movement speed by 70% for 10 sec.
Viciousness (passive)
Increases all damage done by 1%.
Aberration (passive)
Reduces the duration of all Curses and Diseases used against you by 15%.
Flayer (passive)
Skinning skill increased by 15 and allows you to skin faster (and removes the requirement of having a skinning knife).
Two Forms (1.5 sec cooldown)
Turn into your currently inactive form.

I mean, they have a flat +1% to damage. That's pretty huge. And a sprint? And a curse/Disease reduction? The skinning is just a lulz factor on top of that (but it is much better than other + to craft talents, that's for sure.

WoWWiki on Goblins wrote:

Rocket Jump (2 min cooldown)
Activates your rocket belt to jump forward.
Rocket Barrage (2 min cooldown, shared with Rocket Jump)
Launches your belt rockets an an enemy, dealing X-Y fire damage. (24-30 at level 1; 1654-2020 at level 80)
Time is Money (passive)
Cash in on a 1% increase to attack and casting speed.
Best Deals Anywhere (passive)
Always receive the best discount regardless of faction standing.
Pack Hobgoblin (30 min cooldown)
Calls in your personal servant, allowing you bank access for 1 min.
Better Living through Chemistry (passive)
Alchemy skill increased by 15 (and you gain bonuses for healing/mana potions you made; 25% more mana/hp from potions).

Not as good as Worgen, in my opinion, but pretty great. I imagine the RJ one is a targeting spell, or like Blink. Useful in PvP and in instances--the faster you are out of the fire, the more DpS you put out. RB is interesting--first time we have a direct damaging racial. Will be particularly good if it doesn't trigger the GCD. 1% increase to attack speed is good for most classes (some more than others). Goblin tanks will be getting the best discounts for repairs regardless of where they do it, and they'll shave tons of money off mount costs. Free bank access every 30 minutes is awesome for mat farming (especially in Cata, where there won't be a centralized city like Dal that's quick to return to and leave). Again, the alchemy is just icing on the cake.

As you can see, they're far superior to every race, and WAY superior to most. The 1% damage from Worgen is sexy as hell... So, if they aren't gonna buff the other races, I doubt Gnomes will make the strongest Mages.
