25m ToC brawlFollow

Third stage of 25m ToC where you have to fight ten different opponents at once - I'm a feral tank and I'm having a terrible time keeping my target under control - sucker just ignores me no matter how high I get my threat going - any suggestions, tips or tricks that'll help?

It's an arena like fight. They don't have agro tables. You can taunt and they will go to you but will switch targets at will. Go cat pounce, maim, bear, charge, bash, cyclone, then back to maim. Get's worse in heroic where they can't even be taunted.

Keep your target as far away from everybody else as you can, especially cloth wearers. They do have aggro tables, but not normal ones - they are especially attracted to targets with low armour and health, which is why you'll often see Warlocks focused down hard due to their low armour.

Seems like it's more a healer encounter in the 25-man version if there are still only 10 champions.

In 10-mans I usually get stuck on the Warrior and I just draw him away from the crowd. Growl plus the occasional Feral Charge and Bash is enough to keep him occupied while the others do their thing. I imagine a similar strategy would work in 25-man if the only difference is that they hit harder and have more health. Healers must have a hell of a time there, though.

Edit: "heal" of a time? Seriously, bad pun.

Wow, after reading Aeth's quoted post, this will really change my approach to this fight. I have not attempted 25 man yet as my tank (I did do it in Moonkin form) but last night I was in a 10 man and trying to tank. I felt TOTALLY USELESS. You can taunt, and get them to take one step to you, then change again. Even the AoE taunt would not save my clothies who were getting ganked. I finally talked the raid into letting me swap to Tree form, and had one of the other healers go on dispel/decurse duty. Like Maz said, the fight is pretty healer dependant (hence the absolute value of health lost = aggro rule). Once we did this slight change we one-shotted it without any problems.

I just hope more players actually read that post, excellent find Aeth!

You can lock down a healer indefinitely. Pounce, maim, cyclone x3, bear charge to interrupt a heal, bash to interrupt another one, maim, cyclone x3, etc. Alternatively, you could stay on a melee. Cyclone and roots. I find that that doesn't work as well due to roots getting dispelled, but your role in that fight is situational, based on which of the champions your other raid members can cc.

*** This is written from our TotGC experiences ***

Once my guild found out about that agro info, things got much easier. A few other tricks we use: -

1) All pets are put on the hunter pet (or warlock pet) - this eats up a lot of enemy heals, including a lot of the instant heals which can't otherwise be interrupted.

2) We have myself and another one or two druids with cyclone macros for the healers. We get a target low then we spam cyclone till the diminishing returns are up or the DPS target is dead. This way we are less reliant on the mass dispell being timed right and not letting them heal through the bubble (especially as the priests may be being focused).

3) We usually ignore the tree druid. Almost all his heals are HoT's, so it is easier to just have someone on dispell duty on the DPS target.

4) Enemy totems - these need to be killed ASAP. The rogue we have interrupting the Shaman is on totem duty in between kicks.

5) Our DK's are the best for dealing with the enemy melee. They just follow them around and save deathgrip for emergencies (while calling out on vent who is being targeted and calling when the warrior whirlwinds. (Other tanks are just as good in regular mode - just don't try and hold agro by taunting all the time - Use the taunts to save squishies)

6) We usually don't worry much with CC other than on the healers to interrupt their heals.



We went, in a week or two, from hardly being able to beat these guys after a few attempts to 1-shotting it with maybe 1-2 dead each week now in TotGC. The biggest thing is understanding the agro mechanics as the others have already posted. Low armor peeps should stay at max range where possible and use buffs to up their armor.
