I've had a look around the net but can't find the answer to this one...
Say if I had 2 pieces of Tier 8 gear, and 2 pieces of Tier 9 gear, would I gain both 2-piece set bonuses or would the Tier 9 "overrule" the Tier 8?
Obviously I won't be going out of my way to make this happen, I'm just wondering really.
edit: reason for asking is I'm trying to find a reason for buying the T9 shoulders over the Duststalker Pauldrons . The Duststalkers have massively better stats and I have the T8 2-piece bonus (chest/head).

Yes, if you have 2 pieces of tier 8 equipped and 2 pieces of tier 9 equipped, you will receive the 2 piece bonus from each set. In some cases this is actually the best way to go.

Is there any advantage to buying the T9 shoulders over the Duststalkers that I'm just not seeing? I won't have an additional piece of T9 for quite a while, and to be honest the T9 2piece bonus doesn't seem all that exciting to me either.

As of now, the best dps setup is 2 pc T9 and then offset pieces for all other slots. The 2pcT9 bonus is actually a pretty decent dps increase and if you figure that extra 3 seconds makes your rotation easier, it is even better.
The difference between the T9 shoulders alone and Duststalker is minimal. I'd get the T9 so you're prepared for when you are able to get a second piece for the bonus.

Sorry, I should have been more explicit. I'm referring to the T9.232 ilvl shoulders (81agi/89sta) which you can buy with Triumph emblems. the T9.245 shoulders are a lot closer to the stats of the Duststalkers (93agi/101sta) but are out of my reach at the moment.
edit: anyway, set bonus sounds good I'll aim for that.

Just FYI, of all the simulations I've been trying with Rawr to determine how to spend my badges, it doesn't value the T9 bonuses very highly UNTIL you have 4 pieces of the 245. If all you can get is 232, then you're better off with 2t8+2t9. Even a 4t9 in a 232/245 mix loses out.
