Have a 60 Warlock, a 49 PvP Warrior and some other characters.

Is there a thread for returning players or a place to get people caught-up with BC and WotLK?

I don't know about such thread but as for locks things changed but for lvling some things stayed same.

Aff(to haunt) /demo is fastest farming/questing. no more spell dmg (replaced by spell power) ,hit rating cap raised ofc and haste as a stat introduced ( lowers cast time of your spells as well as GCD).

You can lvl through BGs now, AV is solid exp if you like to pvp instead of quest.

Mmm,can't remember anything else tbh :/

Thank you for the response. Getting a wife a laptop, and she may start playing with me. She's WoW ignorant. Knows absolutely ZERO about the game. The last game we played together was Joust on the PS2 (Midway Classics)... so I figure if she's going to play, I get start her as a Huntard (girls like pets, right?) while I either start a new priest or (ugh) try a tanking class.

Advice? I miss my 'lock, but it'll be a while before I use her again.

So you're planning to start over to play with your wife. Good choice would be classes that complement each other (healer+dps ,tank+healer - makes grouping for instances piece of cake ) but you can choose any classes, doesn't really matter.

2nd class I rolled after lock was druid, because it's total opposite, you can heal, tank and dps. But you got zillion binds with them druids ^^.
Maybe try few classes for few lvls ,see how you you feel them (tho druids are quite boring till you get lv20 and cat form).
Priests are pita at start ,but gets better with higher lvl.

1-60 lvling is quite fast, maybe you could show your wife how to play, teach her some things, after week-two she might get to 60 so you can get back to your lock.

Interesting... but the problem is time. It "sounds" like leveling is easier (especially since PvPing can give you XP now), but we're probably looking at 1 hour per night, 3-4 nights a week tops. Two accounts are necessary (just found this out, thought we could both play on mine), but we're a single-income military family, so it'll take some convincing.

Ah ok then. Since you don't have awful much of time to play ,you two should start from start then, take it easy and enjoy the experience.

Not sure what patch that happened or was it after wotlk launch but exp you get from quests and killing mobs got nicely buffed.Meaning lvling is made much much easier.

You should take a look at Recruit-A-Friend system.

edit - spelling

Well, that's good, and I was always a fan of the double-exp for logging out at an inn.

Will have to investigate. Thinking of going Hunter/Priest mix, but still waiting for the laptop to arrive. Thanks for the link. Will check it out while she's trying her 10-day trial.
