Short of 800 DPS or short by 800 DPS? There's a big difference there. Smiley: wink

Go to this website, put your character in, play around:
http://www.femaledwarf.com/

You're about 2% short on hit, even with a Draenei in your group (you need 8% total, 7% with a Draenei), and you really should fill out your glyph slots with whatever's best suited to the spec you decide on. You should also consider respeccing--my troll hunter is at about the same place you are, and she would gain a couple hundred DPS just switching from Marks to SV.

That one point in Efficiency isn't doing much for you, so if you really want to keep your spec the way it is now, for whatever reason, at least move that point into Go For The Throat for your poor focus-starved pet--and do your pet a favor and level it to 80 if you haven't already, too.

You also really need to get your Ebon Blade and Hodir rep up--questing for rep will make you a nice amount of gold, and while you take the time to do that, pick up the Wintergrasp helm and shoulder enchants for a little extra AP. Cheap enchants are better than nothing. Smiley: smile

Edit: I didn't mention gems since you seemed to have some idea of where you're going on that, but two points: Get a belt buckle for the extra gem slot, and get yourself a meta and keep it activated. Extra agility and extra crit damage are yummy. Smiley: grin

Your gear is better than mine, so I wonder how bad my DeePeess is. I always try to use the shot selection in the FAQ. Not sure why they use steady shot so much as the first 3 shots are ready after I fire them off.

Still working on the rest of my purples and get rid of that last iLevel 187 (pants) there are no leggings for champion seals, in fact the rest of that gear is sidegrades for me. I need to get into ToC10 or OS 10. WoW-heroes give me those as easy. I also try to do Heroics but most won't go for a BM Huntard.

This is you now with best possible 25 man raid buffs.

This is what it should look like.

+969.98 dps.

And you really should stop running around like a headless chicken during fights.
"But I don't! Why do you say that?"
Because you do.
You move way too much during fights and that turns into low dps.
Stop even moving half a step when you don't need to.
Always move as little as possible (for example at Yogg saron, many people run around the room towards the next tentacle, running miles around everything while they could just run through the center close to yogg and only have to go half as far.)

How do I know you move too much? Because your dps is low.
Movement makes an insane difference in dps.

Just think of it, I do about 6k dps in your average fight.
every second I run around I lose 6000 damage, that can hurt my dps quite bad.

Your trinkets in particular could use some work I think; lots of good options that will give you a nice boost...you're not getting a lot out of haste rating and the alchemists stone, while a good jumping off point, is lackluster.

If you have a decent sum of money, you can get a Nobles Deck which results in a Darkmoon Card: Greatness -- which is pretty top notch.

Consider spending some of your emblems on a Mirror of Truth, or run ToC normal a bunch until you get a Banner of Victory (or even better, get both, they stack). Sphere of Red Dragon's Blood drops in H Nexus if you need something to buy you a little more hit rating. Incisor Fragment drops in H Drak'Tharon Keep for a nice hefty ap boost.

Those are just off the top of my head, I'm sure more seasoned hunters could come up with others.

Gear is insignificant for 3k dps.
You can do 3k dps in greens if you move well and don't mess up your rotation (which is nearly impossible as MM though)

Handy website there Aethien, which makes me wonder what sites you do not know about?

So according to that site, I should be doing almost 6200 dps? I find that hard to believe, or more likely that I did something wrong.

edit: redid it and at just over 5k, more reasonable in a 25 man I would think, under ideal conditions.

Well I just did my first 25 man raid in a long time, a failed Onyxia pug, and I was 5100-5500ish dps overall. So that site seems to be quite accurate, and is bookmarked for future reference. Thanks!
