Can you bind a hotkey, or make a macro(which I can than keybind) to make my target my focus?

I'm usually using focus for tricks of the trade. I can see having a quick /focus then also a kick focus macro (or blind focus or whatever) would be nice for PvP though(and a few PvE situations). For TotT... in PVP, it is wiser to use your focus on someone othe rthan your teammates.
A TotT macro that doesn't require a focus looks like:
/target **Your partners name here** (no **)
/cast Tricks of the Trade
/targetlasttarget
This will tricks your partner without ever changing your current target. And also free up your focus frame.
/cast [target=x] Tricks of the Trade
also works; you wont deselet your current target. It's what i used when i was the cleanse ***** on iron council.

Dunno why, but I've never had much luck with focus/mouseover kicks. It works so much easier with pummel, the cost difference is ridiculous =P

No, it just does it without affecting anything other than your energy bar and global cooldown.
