I'm just wondering where you left your castbars.

There're cast bars on all the unit frames and my big one is over the top 3 frames. I don't have any fancy cast bars, just Dominos'.

I actually mind 40 in a bg a lot less than 25 in a raid. My OOR opacity is pretty low, so in a BG you rarely get that many lit up at once, whereas in a raid you're all there, with the obvious exception of Smoke Break Guy.

Edit: speaking of which, what's the big advantage of a cast bar mod like Quartz? It tells you when all your cooldowns are up too or something? I mostly just have the big castbar as a carryover from the days when I was cancel-casting. I always have buttons on my UI, so I can tell when cooldowns are up, but if I hope to actually memorize everything at some point and fade those out, I suppose I should look into something else.

Oh My God.... OMG... omg

I installed Vuhdo and read some of the documentation while dl the LOL beta (that looks interesting, but wrong thread, forum, and game). I thought I had a decent grip on setting up Vuhdo, but holy cow, I was overwhelmed when I went to configure it myself. I spent about 30 minutes trying to configure it before a guildie asked me to join a raid and I ditched it for my old ui.

My first impression is positive, there are some absolute must-haves that I am used to with Grid that I haven't figured out with Vuhdo yet. For instance, in the Faction Champions fight, I realized I was getting silenced by dispelling Unstable Affliction. I seriously thought that the Spriest had a thing for me. o.O
In Grid, I was able to add a debuff specifically for UA and give its icon a different color so I could avoid dispelling it. Took me about 30 seconds to set it up.

I won't feel comfortable with Vuhdo until I am able to do something like that. The "Private tanks" box looks sexy, that is something I have wanted for a while now and may solve my "focus" concerns. Being able to sort boxes in a raid will come in handy when I have a mix-master rl who insists on juggling people around. (I absolutely hate it when I try to target myself and find some rogue in my spot.) Not sure that I want to rearrange people out of groups, though.

The one thing that concerns me is the author's repeated assertion that Vuhdo is not meant to be a boss mod type addon. I applaud his/her conviction to keep the addon heading in its intended goal instead of succumbing to the masses' requests, I just hope that it will be capable of being flexible enough to allow me to make changes on the fly like I am used to.

But I like mouseovers =(
Seriously, I feel the mobility factor every once in a while. Especially if I am not ready for the movement. I wish that I could hold down the right mouse button to move while still hovering over the raid frames instead of having to either keyboard turn or move the mouse off the raid frames. Sometimes I have a hard time finding my cursor again after I move it off of the raid frames.

Exactly! I love mouseovers for the flexibility - I want to be able to cast at anyone, anywhere, any time - but anything that requires me to use both hands to cast a spell just isn't practical. And if I'm going to be taking my right mouse button out of commission by using my mouse to mouseover, I might as well just click and free up the other hand entirely. I can still strafe and run forward, or in a real pinch, keyboard turn for the one second it takes to cast an instant on the run.

Vuhdo has an option to click-through for rt click! This alone made me excited to give it a shot.

In Vuhdo, go to General, Debuffs Custom. Enter and save the debuff. Select Animation, Bar Color, Timer. Then go to Colors, States, and make the Custom Color bright red. You can choose which specific custom debuffs will be animated or color the bar.

Irritating though how it divides the raid into separately draggable groups. Every time I change my layout I spend half the time I should be healing trying to get them to line up exactly. If one is even a millimeter off, my concentration is blown.

You realize there's a "position" option that allows you to do this easily, right? =P

EDIT: I lie. You can indeed filter buffs and debuffs for both friends and enemies in Pitbull. I guess I just liked the default filter and never looked into it.

You'll have to explain to me how you do this. The 3 filters are "Never", "Always" and "In Combat". What I've missed ever since I got Pitbull was a big *** red exclamation mark above the target who gets grabbed on Kologarn saying "THIS PERSON GOT GRABBED, HEAL HIM YOU JACKASS!". I've spent ages scouting through the options menu but I've found nothing even close to that - there simply seems to be no way for Pitbull to show critical debuffs in an appropriate fashion. The best thing I've found is the "don't filter debuffs" option where somebody's screen goes red if he has a debuff, regardless what that debuff is. As you might realize though, this is *far* from optimal. Until 10 Minutes after Bloodlust has been cast the entire debuff part of my UI becomes completely worthless.

Shut UP! I never even looked at that assuming it would just be some pixel coordinate nonsense. Will it actually just line up all 8 groups together (meaning, without me doing math)?

I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing. When I say filtering I mean I can say, show me the little icon for these debuffs but not these ones. You can do that in the Global Settings menu under Auras.

Yes and no. It won't 'line them up' and it is pixel coordinate nonsense. But you don't have to do math for it. If you've got party 1 in the right position and it's Y-axis is 4289.283, you just put the Y-axis of all other parts to 4289.283 as well and voila, they're on the same height as party 1.

I think you're right there. You can 'filter' stuff, it's just that the way Pitbull handles buffs pretty much sucks.

Well it's still numbers, but probably I could handle it. :D

Although I got Pitbull 4 today and it looks like it'll do it for me now anyway.

It does. They're sloppy and hard to read. I go back and forth between using DoTimer, but I hate adding more stuff to my screen when Pitbull can do it all so compact.

I've considered setting up grid to only show 25 people max even in BG's but that would be bad for my performance in AV and IoC, which really doesn't matter that much as it's only a stupid BG but I can't bring myself to do it.

Do you already use the GridAutoFrameSize addon? I found it useful.
I don't need to resize my frame, I don't show any frame to start with. (just the unitframes)
It's just that when I show 40 people it pushes up my unitframes and castbars so much.

Speaking of Dotimer (as I was a couple posts ago, pay attention now), assuming this Kologarn thingie is a debuff, you can use its Notifications feature to put a big red alert on the screen saying, if you wish, exactly that, jackass and all. Smiley: nod

Oh, but I have that; DeadlyBossMods lets me know exactly who got grabbed. The problem is finding those 3 persons in a mass of unit frames depicting a total of 25 people.

Obviously you are expected to memorize the names and locations on your raid frames fully, including pets, during those few seconds when everyone's eating before you go in. I mean seriously, what kind of scrub are you?

That's why it's always exciting to hit the scramble button mid-fight, to jumble everyone around.

I like how your buttons are floating up a little higher there rather than at the very bottom. Maybe I'll move stuff around and do that, since I can't seem to hide them yet. Smiley: bah I mean, I could, but then I could only cast the eleven spells whose keys I know. Come to think of it, those are the spells that would get me through 90% of everything anyway.

Ahem. Not about me, you say? 'k. So how come your profession bar isn't hidden?

On a different note, I thought I asked about this earlier, but I guess it was only to the little voices in my head.

Assuming you're using this Saaru, and like it? My husband's got it and he likes it overall, but the spacing between the keys bugs him and he misses his Belkin.

I'm using this right now, but now that I have a desktop I may put one of those fancy keyboards on my Christmas list.

I wasn't in combat. :)

I have FH, Renew, GH, PoH, Rez and candle buffs on hidden bars.

Button 2 is Smite/Holy Fire, 3 is SW:P/DP, 5 is PW:S.

The bottom bar is more for tracking timers. Stuff like Fiend, PI, PS, and IF. A buff button with a bunch of modifiers for spot buffs.

PoM tracker is also the best. I make way better use of PoM now.

Does PoM tracker track other priests' PoM with a timer? I have it on Grid with a timer to watch mine, but it doesn't track other priests' PoM.
