So I've been gearing up a new priest of mine who just got 80 a few weeks ago.
I've managed to get the guild to get me into N-ToC which gave her a bit of a boost, and I finally got her tailoring maxed to where she could make the purple robe/gloves, got myself a purple OH to match my purple dagger, and now wow-heroes says she's ready for Heroics.
The problem is, WoW-Heroes seems to think she's a better Shadow Priest, than a Holy Priest. Oddly enough, she has very low Hit (I'm gearing her to heal, not DPS) as I focused on Spellpower/Crit and some MP5/Spirit where possible.

Since you can't link directly to character lookups in Wow-heroes. I logged her out as Shadow last, but both have identical scores (1722) since I'm currently using the same gear for both specs (I don't really plan on DPSing dungeons; I just switch specs to solo quest easier).
So, why is it saying she's a better shadow priest than a holy one?
And am I gemming/enchanting properly? Some stuff is not enchanted yet (trying to get ahold of an enchanting guildie to get some enchants on some of that stuff), but those that are, anything I did wrong/should change/etc?
This is my first cloth to Lv80; I've done all mail/plate in the past, so I'm still learning the whole int/spi/SP/mp5 thing.

Its probably to do with the way that the wowheroes system weighs the stats. Its probably that the hit rating on your gear is outweighing the other stats with regards to usefulness. Its nothing worth paying attention to to be perfectly honest. At that stage of gearing priests tend to be fairly samey and the fact that the algorithm decided to pigeon hole your char as shadow can be safely ignored.
I don't know the exact criteria that wow-heroes uses to decide what your best spec is, but I guess that the hit on your gear has caused the site to assume you are dps. I believe that this site uses iLevel points as its base parameter, so any hit on your gear will be wasted on your healing spec, but give your dps spec more value.
I see nothing glaringly wrong with your gemming/enchanting, but you are at a point when all the stats need to be built up. Gear like the Frostsavage set will inflate your score on wow-heroes due to iLevel points being assigned to resilience, so until your toon is more fully fleshed out with appropriate gear, keep that in mind when "rating" yourself.
My personal opinion is that you have enough power for heroics, but you may feel a pinch on mana due to your lowish regen and spec. Synntastic made a nice guide for finding the upgrades you are going to want to get. (I'm not sure if it has been updated to include ToC, which has wonderful gear as well... /nudge Synntastic)
Gearing a healer is a balancing act between throughput and efficiency. You need to be able to land enough heals to keep your group alive, but you also must have the mana to cast those heals for the duration of the fight. Sounds simple, but there are many avenues to achieve this.
Tip: Meditation is almost universally regarded as a must-have in any healing spec.

It will use whatever gear/spec is listed on the armory (assuming you update your character regularly) and it does go by the item value for ratings.
The site is good for seeing if the person wll have the base stats to go through certain raids, but it says nothing of their skill. You can get a decent set of t8.5 lvl gear and have epic gems without ever entering a 10/25m raid. Also some best in slot items have a lower item rating that can bring a person down a bit. I'm usually carrying two lvl 200 trinkets.

Yeah you're right... I should have gone a little deeper into Disc... I was just picking Holy Talents anything that said "increases heals..." and then I got down to the bottom of the tree, switched to Disc and started taking stuff in there... I'll have to find things to subtract to get enough points to go that deep into Disc to get Meditation. I definitely see your point though.
Like I said, first time being a priest... I forgot all about that talent.
