. . . I've been gone for a few months. And I really haven't been keeping up on WoW updates.
I left in May/June for a small break and it turned out to be a little longer.
When I left, Survival was the top DPS spec. Is it still?
I'm sure I will need to respec my Troll Hunter, and I figured I ask want was being used these days.
If not (to survival spec), what are most people running with?
I play PvE and some small raiding when my guild needed another DPS and didn't want to PUG.

It depends on gear progression.
With SV leading at the start going through standard Agility MM up to ArP MM.
Best thing to do is to go play around with Female Dwarf or the Spreadsheet and figure out where you fall.
(Although anything before mostly ilevel 219/226 SV wins out)
With my gear in optimal settings according to the spreadsheet I get:
MM:
Combined: 7667.76 - 100.00%
Hunter:.. 6523.70 - 85.08%
Pet:..... 1144.06 - 14.92%
SV:
Combined:.. 7350.62 - 100.00%
Hunter:.... 6095.79 - 82.93%
Pet:....... 1254.83 - 17.07%
Viper Loss: -37.32 -- -0.51%
BM:
Combined: 6792.75 - 100.00%
Hunter:.. 3824.30 - 56.30%
Pet:..... 2968.45 - 43.70%
Although my new crossbow has a lot to do with the larger differences.
And I switch to SV for 5/10 mans and certain fights like Hodir and Vezax.
Edit: Whoops, that was with vendor ammo, add about 100-150 dps to all with crafted ammo.

Very interesting figures so thanks as it was nice and easy for me to understand and see that my hunters are unlikely to ever do any serious raiding as i refuse to change from my BM spec , which is why i am training up other classes , and it is about time BM got some love at end game although it is not that far behind so my guild may let me try it out at least on the easier raids .
