Ok so just got me the swiftarrow armor crafted up and equipped and started my honor grind at 80.
I am Enhancement spec.

My question is Which pvp gear should i get first?
Should i save for the epics and skip the blues?
Should i get a 2h weapon first since it will be a while until i get the honor for the second 1h.
Should i go for the rings, neck pieces, and trinkets first?

My armory is http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Draka&n=Corthala

Please note that i do NOT under any circumstances raid, or instance. I find the second to be horribly annoying seeing as how either things go horribly wrong and you die alot, or things go picture perfect and you breeze through everything, having not experienced a raid i cant honestly say my feelings about that but i just see it as a bigger longer instance so my gear choices in that since are nonexistant.

Oh thought i should add i will not be doing arena this is strictly Battle Grounds.

Hey, my orc shammy is on Draka too! /waves

From what I've heard, the Swiftarrow set isn't totally worth it for PvP at 80 because the resilience doesn't make up for doing much less damage due to wearing lowbie blue gear. If you don't have any Enhancement gear to begin with, though, it's a good start.

You're going to have trouble getting decent weapons quickly if you're not willing to run heroics or raid--I would strongly suggest that you look into doing instances as there are some very good one-handed weapons you can get that way. A nice starter pair from heroics is Pride (badges) and Greed (H CoS), I'd guess they work just as well for PvP as for PvE and as an orc they'll give you a nice boost to Expertise. Smiley: wink As Enhancement with the ability to dual-wield, you should NEVER be using a two-handed weapon.

For better PvP help than I can offer, check out this forum.

Swiftarrow is a fine place to start, but you definetely don't want to keep it for long.

Like Isyris said, PvE gear does do alright in beginner PvP, I'd say try to PUG something every once and awhile.

As for pure honor, there is a way of going about this. See, you can get full Hateful for honor right now, but soon the new season will begin and you can get Deadly.

My advice is to do Wintergrasp, very often. As much as you can. This is a list of everything you can attain through Wintergrasp marks. This link is the vendor, and you can see everything the Wintergrasp vendors sell.

Thank you both, as for the swift arrow gear i only lost around 72 ap and a little bit of crit, but gained all that resilience so i felt it was a decent trade off.

As for the wintergrasp marks i didn't realize you could buy stuff with them i figured that they were just there to trade in for honor and you had to run the instance that it opens up in order to get that gear, now that i know i will definitely be farming them whenever i am able.

I went ahead and bought the gloves since they raised my shock distance and i already had the honor for them, whats this deadly gear? if it's arena i wont be able to get it while i enjoy pvp a great deal i am not so into it that i will be doing arena i already have a hard time most 80s ignore me or kill me in passing, it's rather annoying actually.

I've had that problem with finding good weapons for quite a while now as you can plainly see by me still using a cobalt axe, but figured i would just switch it out with the pvp weapons when i get a chance.

As for the 2h while i know we deal alot more damage duel wielding i assumed that using a 2h like Titansteel Destroyer would be better then duel wielding the pittly things i have now until i can afford the better weapons.

I will look around the pvp forum a little bit before i post my questions there, never occurred to me that Ala had one, dunno why i go here every day and look around.

Ok just did winters grasp and one word. WOW, that had to be the most epic awesome battle i have ever experienced in a pvp environment, they broke through the gates and it was nothing but explosions and clouds of plague everywhere at the entrance most amazing thing ever.

Makes me wish it happened more often in a day.

I can not thank you enough just looked at it all again and this place is like a dream come true for me in game no joke.

Some more points -

The PvP forum is in a users journal. it's not officially on Allakhazam, why it's hard to find.

Wintergrasp happens every two and a half hours.

Deadly is the second season of PvP gear in Wrath, Hateful is honor right now. When the next season comes out Deadly will be knocked down to honor.

With those two weapons....you really might be better off with the Titansteel Destroyer. Those are pretty low quality, sorry to say. Or get the Titansteel Bonecrusher, maybe even two if you can afford them.

Ya i know they are crap and i have been looking for a while but just haven't gotten anything from quests to replace them yet, and haven't seen anything on the auction house that was better either though now i will keep a look out for those.

On another note where are the quests in winters grasp? i have managed to get a few kill alliance, destroy towers, and herb pouches, but when i looked it up there is supposed to be quite a few right?

I see the people who are supposed to give the quests but they don't offer them.

The Titansteel Bonecrusher is unique, sadly--there's an epic dagger, too, but it is much faster than is ideal for Enhancement, it's much more of a Rogue weapon. Might be decent to start with, though.

Don't forget to pick up at least one weapon chain--if you're still below PvP hit cap then you might consider two for the hit rating since they're cheap. Other 1-hander enchants aren't quite so pricy anymore, though, so for one of your weapons you may find another enchant more useful. The reduced disarm doesn't stack, even though the hit rating does.

Oh yea? I must've missed the Unique tag. The dagger would probably even suffice to replace what you have now. PvE weapons are just fine, remember. Most people use a few PvE mixed in with PvP for PvP.

The Wintergrasp quests have a cooldown. Either weekly or daily, weekly I think it is.

If you're attacking then the quests will be in the camp along the mountain ridge that is the edge of the zone. If you're defending, inside the fortress, towards the middle.

Ya it is weekly, as for the quests i don't know whats going on i see the npc's that are listed as giving the quests but they just don't offer me anything. except for those 3 i listed.

Tried getting them on two different characters just to make sure that it wasn't something to do with the cool downs, i know people are getting them they share most of them when the raid group is made but it's annoying that i cant find them on my own, especially when certain people don't share quests you know they are on.

It isn't that they aren't sharing, it may be that you aren't eligible, and it just never shows up for you when someone does share it. I personally don't know how it works, I'd recommend looking it up.

Others have answered your question somewhat satisfactorily, but I wanted to really break it down to the most efficient order.

The Wintergrasp boots, wrist, and belt are all weaker than their gladiator counterparts, but at 15 marks apiece they can be picked up far quicker than the gladiator pieces can be ground out with honor if you're doing Wintergrasp religiously, and they're better than your blue crafted set. So aim to pick those up (they're a good place to get hit, so plan to itemize accordingly), filling out the other non-armor slots (neck, rings etc.) through the honor grind.

For armor, now that badges of conquest are available to you, you'll be far better off doing heroics since you can purchase gear one season ahead of what you can get with honor. If you have a really good group dedicated to heroic farming, it's not unreasonable to have amassed enough badges to purchase an armor piece after two-to-three nights of work.

Also - and I can't stress this enough - start doing arenas immediately. Even if it's only ten games a week and your rating goes nowhere while you get your taint handed to you, you're still building a meager pool of mercy arena points that you will eventually want to/get to spend.
