Priest ProfessionsFollow

So I've decided to go all out on my Priest.
I got her the BoA chest with +65 mana enchant, BoA Shoulders, BoA Hammer with +30 spell power.

On my Pally I did min/maxing with JC/BSmithing. On Mage I went with Enchanting and Herbalism(to make gold) going to change to Tailoring.

Currently I have Tailoring and Herbalism on Priest. When I hit 80 I want to drop Herbalism, but for what? What is the best to go with?

I figure I can do Inscription for uber shoulder chant, Enchanting for Ring Enchants, or maybe Alchemy or some such thing. No idea so any advice would be great.

If you have a character that can support blacksmithing or jewelcrafting with mining, or one that can support inscription with herbalism then by all means go ahead. Otherwise go for enchanting as it has no required gathering profession.
Other than that, the benefit you'd gain is approximately equal these days, so any of them would be appropriate.

Alchemy is always a nice choice for money saving if thats your thing.

Tailor
Enchanting~JC~BS

I'd go enchanting just because it seems to never go out of style, JC isn't as bad as people say to level (since you have a DE already just mail all the things you make, and don't forget to prospect gems not buy them, blacksmith gives you great place to put extra gems

tailor is just OP

These days Alchemy adds as much of a bonus as Jewelcrafting or Inscription through Mixology. So yeah, any of the above.

I'll just throw a fun, oddball one out there. I was Tailoring and Alchemy, but wanted to have a bit more fun. I went to Tailoring / Engineering. I really didn't see much benefit for a healer other than the fun factor and the portable repair bots and mailbox. I'll move alchemy over to another alt for making potions (yes, I lost my blue alchemy trinket and the double time on flasks).

Let me say that I was wrong. Being a priest is partially about staying alive. Being able to add Nitro Boosts to multiple pairs of epic boots you may now wear can be a life saver. In a macro, you can put multiple /use statements. I have a macro keybound that casts desperate prayer, uses my trinket to get out of stun, and uses both my pve and pvp boots (so either that is equipped will fire). The result is that I heal up, unstun, and rocket out of harms way. Even when it malfunctions, I shot up a couple hundred feet in wintergrasp with an automatic parachute, so I was shielding and healing people on the way down. It also adds 24 to critical strike rating.

Part of the fun for me is switching professions around. I have a lot of fun with engineering.

Can we see it, can we see it?

Although, you are obviously full of it, because you fail to mention the single biggest benefit of engineering: mechanical squirrel.

I'm going with tailor/enchanter on my priest.

Didn't research anything, but the tailoring is attractive due to the cool cloak enchant and the cheap leg enchants and I went enchanting to be able to disenchant all greens I get for profit/to cover enchanting costs.

Tailor/enchanter is probably the most popular priest combo. Not only do you get 2 crafting profession bonuses, but you can make lots of dough on enchanting mats and bags.

My next priest will have inscription and JC. The latter should be interesting as I have no miners.

But what I really want to talk about is how I just noticed that Aethien has me sigged, presumably to show how fools are indeed suffered over there in Theo's unofficial PVP forum. So all y'all should trot right on over to the General and vote for a PVP forum if you haven't already, cause it'll be fun!

Sure...

/cast Desperate Prayer
/Use Titan-Forged Slippers of Salvation
/Use Boots of the Crackling Flame
/Use Medallion of the Alliance

With Bartender4 I made a little box with both boots above where I put my macro. The macro is keybound and I can see the boot cooldown as well as desperate prayer's cooldown. Since desperate prayer has a 2m cooldown and the boots 3m, I don't have any problems with a failed dp cast preventing an otherwise ready Turbo Boosts.

I'll have to get to that squirrel. I do have a fighting mechanical chicken, Poultryizer, Exploding rabbits, Wormhole generator.....

So do you have to hit the button 4 times, or does it just do all these things with one push on account of no shared cooldowns?

I'll admit to being kind of a dunce with macros that do multiple commands. I never could figure out why hitting one button three times was so much more desirable than hitting three buttons. But if I could make a panic button like this that I'd only have to push once I can see the benefit.

Just hit the button once for everything.

A castsequence is nice on my lock, when I want to simply tap the same key 5 times until the mob is all dotted up and dead.

One click works as long as no more than one of those abilities is on the GCD.
If you get multiple things on the GCD you're going to have to spam it.

I put it in my sig pretty much right after you posted it Smiley: tongue

It still makes me smile when I read it. ^^

And yeah, go vote for a PvP forum, you know you want to become better and get a killing blow ith your staff/mace/dagger, just for the fun of it.
Because it doesn't get any more humiliating than having to answer "The priest stabbed me" when asked how you died.

Didn't know Priest could use Daggers O.o

That aside, Priest is a complete monster in PvP... I just ran a WSG(we lost :/) and I shielded a war from one right outside enemy camp to flag room against 6 horde and neither of us died >:D then I went, grabbed flag, and ran it back!

then 3 twinkish people stalked me the rest of the match :/

But yeah I LOVE PRIEST! That and in 5min of PvP I got 5k exp somehow O.o was nice dinging after a loss lol.
