I have my Blood Elf hunter at level 28 from a while back and was thinking of maybe picking him up again. I was wondering what was a different kind of pet because I wanted a change from what I have. I currently have a dragonhawk, bear, wind serpent, and a spider. Any suggestions?
Try a Ferocity pet: Wolf, cat, etc.
I can add try looking at Petopia or anywhere that shows pets pictures and check out what is in game as you might as well have a pet you like the look of , each pet family has some very good abilities and you may as well try them all out but of course at your level you cannot get some pets but they are well worth trying out when you get to 60+ , i tend to go for the pets with animations i like so for me its gorillas which you are almost able to get at your level.
Boars are good eat anything and good animations.
crabs. nice pets do not block your target and pretty tough and not bad animations.
raptors are good and plenty of different colours so loads of choice and they move well .
cat all are fun and great animations and the BE area cats look pretty good at high level.
All the bird families are good but may be annoying with the wings flapping.
crocolisks are pretty good but personally i hate the sound effects.
Loads of choices out there and for something different try a tallstrider , i have two alts with them and both unique colours and both low level pets and believe me they are great fun and viable pets and i see few of them at high levels.

Having 4 pets at any level below 80 is useless. You're wasting time leveling them all up to your level.
I'd have to agree with Lady isyris and Yuppley both. Killing things faster = leveling faster so, geting the most damage out of your pet is important. Cats, raptors and other fierce pets are likely going to be your best choice here. Also; I would suggest sticking with that pet 'til you get closer to end game. You would probably leave your secondary pets in the stable and outgrow them pretty quickly.
At 80 it is nice to have a few pets for different purposes. I personally, have one for raiding, one for soloing, one for PvP and a couple just because they are cute and cuddly with rediculous names. :)

Posted: Sep 08 2009 at 4:55 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I agre with most of what was just said here, but there isnt much difficulty with keeping a stable of pets leveled to at least near the same level as you, firstly just pulling a long inactive pet out of the stable immediately brings said pet to within five levels of your own, and having a couple specific purpose pets available is very handy.

As to on topic(old or not), I have 1 pet. My Ghost Saber is more than enough until I am high enough for a Gorilla, and I only want that for AoE'ing anyhow.
