so im guessing by now that all mages around the world have read the Q&A post by blizz about our class. the general response, as i garnered, was this:
"i spent 10 minutes reading THAT???"
on the o-boards, everyone is complaining that blizz didn't address the more pressing issues about mages, that they didn't announce any real specific changes, that mages were, in essense, "working as intended"
wat are your thoughts? or better yet, if you could change ONE SPECIFIC THING about the mage class, wat would it be?
still being on a very long WoW hiatus, and ready to go to bed, i cant offer my own views on this matter XD

Would "making a proper frost/fire spec rather than a fire/fire+3 frost talents" count as "one specific thing"?
Mages are fine imo, our priorities work, our dps is excellent (I'm consistently in the top 3) in most ulduar fights.
Overall the Q/A was worthless though (as my thread here describes).
58/13 is a fine frostfire build.

When min/maxing yes, but I just don't like the idea that a build with about 4 times as much points in fire as in frost is called "frostfire". I'd look for a way to give 0/36/35 builds more synergy.
Also Anobix, is there really nothing you'd change? There has to be something, even if it's just a new version of Polymorph =P

Sure, I mean I think it would be cool to have a mage-mount (like a magic carpet <queue price is right losing music>
I wouldn't mind rolling ignites or something, but in the means of a balanced raid and so forth to eliminate super-qq and insta-over-nerf I am pretty happy where mages are. In good gear we are close to crit cap, fireballs are coming out relatively quickly (raid buffed mine are around 2.3 second casts) and our spells work pretty well. Our synergy is decent -- I wish we could put up the crit debuff in one spell w/o glyphing for it (like warlocks can). It would be nice if they fixed blink (not holding my breath, and I really don't notice it THAT often). Oh, and undead look terrible in T8 gear.

I'm with Anobix on this one. Sure there's some things I'd like to see fixed (blink) or some random look changes, but other then that there's only one mechanic change I wouldn't mind. I enjoy PvPing as fire from time to time because the play style is fun. I wouldn't mind seeing blastwave be able to be used while stunned like a shamans t-storm is.
Other then that I'm usually scared about any major changes Blizz tries to implement. Always seems to be hit or miss and we're working good enough that a miss would be much worse then a hit.

i'm currently level 67 Mage, and I've been mixing fire/forst[50:50] and i don't think it was a good idea for a solo play.
i'd like to ask you guys for best mix till i reach lv80. i'm wiling to reset my sepc.

Omg I finally got my 1st t8.5 piece ( Chest ) and wanted to cry, the fact that its a tunic is an epic fail on blizz. CHANGE THE TUNIC TO A ROBE PLEASE.

Excellent place for this post...
I liked pure frost leveling personally.
