I am trying to decide between three trinkets right now. I have pretty good spell power on my gear already, so am looking at using my trinkets for mana regen. The three trinkets I have avaiable to me for mana regen (spirit, really) are the:

http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=39388;source=live Spirit-World Glass
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=40430;source=live Majestic Dragon Figurine
or
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=45703;source=live Spark of Hope

Basically, I just want to get the most mana regen / conversation I can out of the two trinket spots, wanted to know which two to use.

thank you for your time.

Equip the Spark of Hope first. Calculations on WoWhead show the -42 mana cost on spells to be worth about 100mp5. 100mp5 + 100 spirit is about BiS for just about any healing priest right now.

About the other two, I'd personally go with the Majestic Dragon Figurine, even though the difference isn't that big. It's more of a classic "do you prefer automatic stat increases vs a triggered proc" question.

The spark is really good so there is trinket 1

For trinket 2 I'd perfer to use a throughput over regen trinket but it really depends on how often you're going oom on fights

If you don't have mana problems (which I've haven't yet) I'd prob go with [Eye of the Broodmother] or [Illustration of the Dragon Soul]

But for another regen I'd go with Soul of the Dead

Out of the two options you gave it doesn't really matter I don't think :P

Get a new trinket!

Opps! Nice catch sorry =)

Since we're on the topic, how would you rate the Majestic Dragon Figurine v. Tears of the Vanquished?

Wowhead has MDF at about 86mp5 if you're inside the 5SR 90% of the time (which I figure is about where I'm at). Wowhead claims that TotV has an internal CD of about 45 seconds, but procs on 25% of casts AND ticks...so it pretty much procs as soon as the cooldown is up...meaning 500 mana every 45 secs, which works out to about 50-55mp5.

Of course, this does not take into account the +84 Intel that TotV gives, and associated +Crit and so on.

I'd accept this at face value except that with the recent spirit nerfs I'm not sure if these calcs are still accurate.

Thoughts?

If you are having mana-issues and a low manapool as holy, go ahead for Tears of the Vanquisehed to make up for the stats. But I must say this trinket seems more suitable for a discipline priest (or holy paladin or restoshaman). The 180 spirit that the Majestic Dragon Figurine brings is extremely nice for holy for both manaregen and raw spellpower. I'd say you try em both out (if you can get your hands on it) and see for yourself in which situations which trinket is best. Up to your own preferences.

For Dragon Figurine vs Spirit-World Glass it's simply calculating `how much spirit they give to show which one is better.

Dragon Figurine = 18 spiritx10, assuming you'll have a near 100% uptime on the 10 stack we'll assume 180 spirit.

Spirit-World Glass = 84 spirit + 336 spirit for 20 sec every 120 sec.
20/120 sec is 1 out of 6 seconds uptime so an average of 336/6 = 56 spirit.
56+84=140 spirit on average.

Easy conclusion I'd say, you'd have to have an uptime on 10 stack Dragon figurine of something like 75% before the Spirit-World Glass gets better.
And if you cast that little, chances are mana isn't going to be anywhere near an issue.

Just picked TotV up last night from the new, regular instance. Ran it through some quick testing and can confirm that it has at most 45 second internal cd, returns 500 mana upon proc (Mana Mana), and probably has the high proc rate quoted above -ten seconds was the longest I had to wait for it to proc. It does proc independently and side-by-side with the IED meta. Several times I had them both proc off same cast. Can't comment on the proc off ticks, didn't test it into that.
I give it a big thumbs up for an efficiency trinket that has throughput utility via crit.

I picked this up as well and paired it with my Soul of the Dead. Does anyone know if they share a ICD? I am still getting great returns on both trinkets during long fights.

Just a little update to this. I noticed in recount that I have been getting more mana from the TotV trinket than I have from the IED meta. Supposedly, they have the same internal cd (45 seconds) and the meta returns more mana (600) but still have noticed the trinket totals are more than the IED. Not sure why, perhaps a lower proc rate is limiting the IED, but it is worth noting.
