Being killed by ret is overrated. Get over it.

Warlocks, Priests, and Mages don't just "beat" ret, they "trivialize" it. Warlock with the most ease.

Also ret can't kill any healer that heals himself or anyone that is receiving heals. If you try healing in bgs you'll find out that the easiest class/specs to heal against are ret and ferals. Even prot warriors are harder to heal trough.

I'm pretty sure there are certain hunter and elemental builds that can also trivialize paladins but I cannot confirm it because I don't have chars of those classes.

However, if you roll a lock or priest you'll see that rets will avoid you like the plague and you'll have dks, rogues and hunters coming out of your ears and hunting you down.

If you roll a healer you'll have everyone except rets and ferals hunting you down like an army of pervs after a pornstar, and mostly rogues. Rets and ferals will sometimes attack you out of desperation but without any success, they try because if the healer doesn't die they can't kill anything at all.

Finally, gear is totally overpowered. So you can simply get your warrior geared from ulduar 25 and some furious gear and you'll be able to kill rets all the time without any problem. Also notice that warriors are stronger than ret in 2v2 arena so warriors can get Furious easier than Ret.

In a few weeks, when he is 80, he will be on the Rogue or Mage forum screaming about how they gank him constantly and he needs to know what classes to beat them with.

I'll be honest, when I spec ret I really don't consider any DPS class a counter in 1v1. Maybe destro warlocks if they get the jump from 30 yards out. Frost mages only have a chance if they start from the same far range and open with poly, spellsteal all buffs then open with a shatter while you're poly'd.
