Talents StackingFollow

If I take talents in different trees that kind of do the same thing do they stack? For example: Veteran of the Third War and Ravenous Dead. Will I end up with an increase in strength of 9%?

I also have a question about Scourge Strike. I am at the point where that will be the next talent I take. How does SS fit into a normal rotation when doing solo work on quests?

Thanks

I believe all stat modifiers stack since they aren't temporary buffs like Horn of Winter.

As for Scourge Strike, it's your Big Gunâ„¢ ability. I'm assuming you have the talent Reaping, so you should start out with applying diseases, using Blood Strike twice (or Pestilence and Blood Boil with multiple targets) to convert Blood Runes into Death Runes. Now you have two Frost, Unholy and Death Runes, of which the Death Runes and one pair of Frost and Unholy are on cooldown. You can use the remaining pair of Unholy and Frost to cast a Scourge Strike (get the glyph, by the way, it'll save you from having to reapply diseases sometimes). The killer, though, is that the next rotation will allow you to cast three Scourge Strikes in a row, because both Blood Runes are Death Runes now.

Cue voice-over from Unreal Tournament: M-M-M-MONSTER KILL!

No problem.

The glyph I was talking about is Glyph of Scourge Strike. With that many Scourge Strikes weaved into your rotation, chances of having the glyph refresh your diseases is pretty big. If it doesn't happen, you'll just have to reapply diseases in the third rotation, like you did in the first, but if the glyph procs, you'll get to do two Scourge Strikes instead of just one at the beginning of a rotation.

1st rotation:
â–“ â–“ â–“ â–“ â–“ â–“

Plague Strike > Icy Touch > Blood Strike > Blood Strike > Scourge Strike > Runic power dump (Death Coil, Gargoyle, Corpse Explosion, defensive stuff)

2nd rotation:
â–“ â–“ â–“ â–“ â–“ â–“

Plague Strike > Plague Strike > Plague Strike > Runic power dump

3rd rotation (glyph refreshed diseases):
â–“ â–“ â–“ â–“ â–“ â–“

Blood Strike > Blood Strike > Scourge Strike > Scourge Strike > Runic power dump

3rd rotation (glyph didn't refresh diseases):
â–“ â–“ â–“ â–“ â–“ â–“

Plague Strike > Icy Touch > Blood Strike > Blood Strike > Scourge Strike > Runic power dump

As you can see, if the glyph doesn't refresh your diseases, your third rotation will be just like your first rotation. The glyph essentially allows you to get an extra Scourge Strike in instead of Plague Strike and Icy Touch.

Hope this illustration was worth it. And hopefully I didn't fill you a lot of bull. I'm just running with my own experience.

Wow! I don't know how you got such great color into your reply, but it made the rotation very easy to follow. Will try it out very soon.
