Why is that when I switch from a defensive stance to a battle stance, My attack hot key gets a green highlight around it and I don't attack when I click it. Thank you.

I've never seen a highlight, but then again I don't have the "attack" key on my bar as it's pretty much redundant. If you're right clicking a mob, you'll automatically attack it. No need for an attack key with that case.

In your case, if you're clicking on it when it's already highlighted, I'm assuming that you're cancelling the attack action.

The green highlight means you're attacking already. I assume you don't have attack on your hotbar in defensive stance, and when you change to the battle stance bar, the attack button surprises you. Don't click it off; better yet just take it off the actionbar and right click your targets to attack.

The same way you use rend - By keyboard turning and clicking.

For anyone actually reading and curious (aka not MF), pressing escape, or T, or clicking off your target, will be enough to make you quit attacking.

I find I stop attacking them when one of us is dead. Until then there's usually no reason to stop attacking.

Thanks for the info.. I was not aware I was on auto attack. Thanks.
#11REDACTED, Posted: Sep 11 2009 at 9:32 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Thanks for the info. It seems that a lot of the posters think it's a given that simple mechanics are known... I didn't know... Trolling posts to put people down is a true sign of being a total douche bag & a loser!!!

As someone still new to the game (started in late July, 09) I too was baffled by the green color. I'll be removing "attack" from its hot key slot . . . soon! lol

Thanks to both the original poster & to the ones replying; some other good, basic, advice in this thread too. Very useful for noobs, like me.

Huh? Where exactly are people putting anyone down here? All I see is a lot of posts helping the original poster with his inquiry.

Technically, it's not useless. Questions were answered, meaning it had a use to someone, which, you know, is the core point of this site. Whether necroing it was good or not, that's pretty much up for debate. Considering it was necroed by someone who found it useful, my guess is that the necro wasn't bad. The fact that the necro didn't involve any new info being added to the thread means the necro was pointless.

Also, apologies for replying to an old thread. Usually don't check the dates before I reply and I'm not a frequent poster here so I hadn't seen it before.
